Great value but inconsistent quality

I've used this restaurant before and really looked forward to returning. For €44, the fixed price menu is good value with 3 courses, aperitif and wine included. However, the food quality can be variable... my steak was overcooked and tough, whereas my friend's duck was tres bien. Staff were OK... read more

The food was good. Not salty at all very healthy. At our table two people took care of us. Thin nice guy and over weight not good mood woman then I realized our experience eventually depends on WHO is serving you. The guy was so attentive but the woman we had to ask her many times plus she didn't get... More

A coworker and I chose this place because it was the top traditional French Tripadvisor place we could pay with AmEx around our hotel at the 17eme. The place is really good looking, with great, old-fashioned decor with ultra-modern touches (iPad menu anyone?) The highlight of this place is the 44 EUR all-inclusive menu, consisting of 3 course-mail, a bottle... More

Le Grand Bistro de 17 is one of several restaurants in a chain. We've been dining there and others in the chain for about 25 years. All the restaurants serve the same menu. For a flat rate you get champagne cocktails, choice of appetizer, Choice of main course, choice of dessert and a bottle of wine for two. In the... More

We went in for lunch. The restaurant was quiet with generally older cliental. Food was nice but not amazing. Good place for a nice run of the mill meal out.

Lovely restaurant, very good service (I read others had poor service) but we had a very nice waiter who explained the menu and the special of $44 Euros we got three courses plus appetizer champagne and wine. Food was excellent and our service was very good. We went on a Friday night but got there at 7pm when it opened.... More

Nice restaurant, very busy with most tables occupied; food was extremely good and fixed price dinner menu good value for money - €44 for three courses and wine. Service got worse and worse though as the restaurant progressed; attentive at the start when not that busy - and then waitress all but disappeared when the restaurant became packed. Had to... More

We went here on a Sunday. Perhaps they were having a busy day however we were not at all overwhelmed by their service. However, the linguine dish was very good. Otherwise, not amazing in comparison to other bistro experiences in Paris
