Well priced, nice food

If you're looking for a well priced Parisian bistro then this place is for you. Food was nice, traditional setting, and the waiters (while extremely busy) were very friendly when you could get their attention. To be fair we were hidden in the corner a bit. Seafood risotto and steak tartare were... read more

The duck that I ordered was tough to cut, chewy and tasteless; the accompanying pommes au gratin was cold. The staff couldn't have cared less. I simply don't understand the positive reviews.

We ate twice in this Bistro on our last visit to Paris It is an old fashioned place and very popular with the locals which is always a good sign The staff were courteous and knew their food inside out Well worth a visit

I'm puzzled by some of the poor reviews of this perennially-popular bistro, which my spouse and I have been returning to for years. We usually take friends who are visiting Paris and often book a table for six or eight people. Invariably, we and our friends have a terrific time and we've yet to have a disappointing meal. It's a... More

Easter fixed price dinner. Started out nice, beautifully decorated restaurant. We read the reviews about inattentive, slow service...and they are true. The starters were very good, asparagus in olive oil and salmon tartare. Then alas....downhill. The lamb was shoe leather, and I mean not soft supple shoe leather, you needed a saw to cut it. My beef, same thing. We... More

Delicious, well thought-out menue. Far better than other more highly rated restasrants on Tripadvisor. Come hungry with plenty of time to enjoy each bite. Do not come if you are in a hurry; you will not enjoy youself. We loved it!

We booked a few hours before dinner, and arrived as planned for 9pm. The table was almost ready and we could sit. First, the service was very slow. No one to come and take our order... people waiting long for their plates to reach. After we ordered our drinks, we were dissapointed to get 2 wrong drinks out of 4.... More

This used to be a fabulous Restaurant, but unfortunately the standards have gone down. The service is very rushed and although the price for the set menu has gone up, the portions has become smaller. I will think twice before I go there again. There are other restraurants in Paris offering a similar set menu for the same price with... More

I have been coming to this restaurant for the last 15 years, almost every time I was in Paris, which is two to three times a year. For the first time I noticed that the standards are going down, both in service, but especially in the quality and presentation of the food. What has happened to this former gem of... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
