The full menu was a bargain! Nice atmosphere as well

We settled for the fixad price menu of €41 and was still surprised that it ended on that price, we got 3 really nice disken, an aperitif, a bottle of wine to share and coffee. We could chose between 10 different entrees, main courses and desserts. Our créme brulée came in on fire, spectacular!

I visited this restaurant with a friend on a strong recommendation and had been really looking forward to it. We had the set menu for €41 which seemed to be a good choice but it didn't live up to our expectations at all! The service was poor, a bottle of wine which was included in the price of the meal... Also heard of this "good" place, however I think it went bad. We had the two meal course (appetizer+main or main+dessert). We went for steak bearnaise and crepes suzette. This was mediocre. The beef cut was bad, the fries where overcooked, the crepes where overpoored with Grand Marnier forgetting the very important fresh orange (if traditional but also ice cream,... More

Everyone that we met in this Bistro was amazing; friendly with a easy style that made us feel very welcome and at ease. They made us feel special and took great care of us. Then as if that wonderful feeling was not enough the food was beautiful, every course was a delight. We all had such a great time there... More

The duck that I ordered was tough to cut, chewy and tasteless; the accompanying pommes au gratin was cold. The staff couldn't have cared less. I simply don't understand the positive reviews.

I'm puzzled by some of the poor reviews of this perennially-popular bistro, which my spouse and I have been returning to for years. We usually take friends who are visiting Paris and often book a table for six or eight people. Invariably, we and our friends have a terrific time and we've yet to have a disappointing meal. It's a... More

Easter fixed price dinner. Started out nice, beautifully decorated restaurant. We read the reviews about inattentive, slow service...and they are true. The starters were very good, asparagus in olive oil and salmon tartare. Then alas....downhill. The lamb was shoe leather, and I mean not soft supple shoe leather, you needed a saw to cut it. My beef, same thing. We... More

If you're looking for a well priced Parisian bistro then this place is for you. Food was nice, traditional setting, and the waiters (while extremely busy) were very friendly when you could get their attention. To be fair we were hidden in the corner a bit. Seafood risotto and steak tartare were both very good.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
