Description: La Truffiere restaurant in the heart of Paris village-like Mouffetard district is the reason you planned a romantic weekend in Paris. Almost entirely candlelit, this 17th century restaurant has two dining rooms featuring divine cuisine de terroir and impeccable service: the beamed ground floor space has a lovely fireplace and the stone-vaulted cellar where the air of quaint antiquity and the soft candlelight really take effect. Christian Sainsard is the charming patron and chef Jean-Christophe Rizet is responsible for the modern interpretations of classic dishes from the southwest of France, with a special emphasis on the noble truffle. You will find classic dishes of depth and richness, like duck leg stew with black truffled mash and duck liver, as well as lighter ones like codfish steamed with lemon verbena, oysters in tartare, cauliflower mousse with watercress sauce. The wine list has more than 30000 bottles and the sommelier has tasted them all.
