This was a restaurant I have been hearing about for the last 30 years at least, so was eager to try it. I was at first a little apprehensive when I tried to use the website as there is no option to reserve for one, but my hotel concierge was able to secure the lunch reservation easily. You are escorted... More

Celebrating my husband's 70th birthday and my cousins 40th wedding anniversary at La Tour d'Argent was perfection. Food was all we could ask for - the interior of the restaurant superb, and the view extraordinary. The service was wonderful - an excellent combination of being there as needed but never intrusive. The evening was one of the best experiences ever. Very... More

Tour d'Argent certainly made for a memorable Christmas meal! My wife and eye went in understanding that it's not cheap so once you are past that, just sit back and enjoy. You are greeted like a special guest and shown to the marvelous dining room. The wine list is...extensive to say the least. I am so glad that I did... More

My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary in Paris, and were recommended Tour D'Argent by several people. We heard it was one of the oldest restaurants in the city, and was famous for it's view and duck. We booked reservations from Florida before going, and the restaurant required a $200 non-refundable deposit up front. Of course, with the... More

This was a wonderful dining experience! We booked Christmas Eve lunch for five of us, including my seven-year-old son and we all opted for the prix fixe lunch. I had the pike quenelles for a starter; they were really lovely with very tasty mushrooms at the bottom. Then I had the duck with squash and pear honey. It was a... More

We only visited this place because it is a landmark of the city. However, we were not disappointed. We had a cheese plate for starters and then their famous duck with a nice bottle of wine. I'm not really into duck, but the truth is, it doesn't really matter what they serve: you won't be able to take your eyes... More

We have been going to Tour d'Argent for Christmas lunch for the past four years. Paris at Christmas is quite lovely. The vista from Tour d'Argent looks down the Seine River at Notre Dame Cathedral. Absolutely brilliant! The staff is very formal and every meal is a memorable occasion. Amazing wine list, best duck in the world. This is a... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
