Expensive - but special!

Be prepared to pay over €250 for lunch as a couple. The set lunch is delicious and comes with little extras between courses and with coffee. Champagne by the Glass @ €25 and both Demi and full bottles of wine are quite expensive - but expected at this type if restaurant. The service is excellent... read more

I had a table by the window to overlook city. Overall ambient is nice. I had the famous duck menu. As I was alone so the whole course was too much for me. The dishes were well prepared and tasted good. Yes, I also got a card with number of duck I had. I could not help feeling sorry for... More

This beautifully decorated restaurant started in the 16th Century and has since served to many Royalties and important personalities. The view of Notre-Dame is breathtaking. The dish that made this place well known is Pressed Duck which serves 2 people. The duck is numbered and mine was 1,144,970 ( over a million ) Reservation is required much ahead of time,... More

After hearing about La Tour d'Argent from a friend, we decided to book a table for lunch during our stay in Paris. We were not disappointed! Fabulous table, view and service. The restaurant was even pointed out as a location of note during our boat cruise on the R. Seine! All the extras added up (the wine and optional cheeseboard,... More

It is really difficult to say any more positive things about this place which have not been said. It is really Parisian Institution and it stands by its traditions. The duck is as good as it has ever been and the champagne and service is really superb. Don't go there if you are concerned about value for money. You should... More

Come for the wine and the view, and expect to pay for it. I think you are only supposed to come to this restaurant if you really love wine and want access to things you just cant find anywhere but at wine auctions. The list is amazing and it took me about 45 mins to go through 2 sections. (... More

Historical restaurant! Pretentious and expensive.., but you might want to consider to experience it at least once. It has been opened for several centuries and never closed its doors, at least that is what we were told . The hit of the menu is a duck, each has it N. All the famous people who dined in the restaurant had... More

The duck which is the speciality was not well cooked, it was chewy and the salad and the potatoes (cooked in a very simple way) arrived almost ten minutes after the duck. The service was poor and the sommelier was like a policeman back on the table. It is a famous restaurant and that is the only thing it has.... More

Was here for lunch for my mothers birthday. The food and the service was exceptional and worth every penny. Never got to try the sauce from the pressed duck but that is only a reason to some back.

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
