Great resturant

Was here for lunch for my mothers birthday. The food and the service was exceptional and worth every penny. Never got to try the sauce from the pressed duck but that is only a reason to some back.

This is a top notch Restaurant founded by Claude Terrail and now managed by his son Andrè. Do not miss to start the Quenelles de brochet sauce Nantua. As a main course dine on the Caneton a la Presse (duck pressed and cook in its own blood), truly delicious. To finish Crepes Suzette or Souflè de Chocolat. This restaurant is... More

I had the taster menu and was not dissappointed. It's not cheap, but the experience - the service, the food, the view - made it worth it. I even got some of the preserves they sell across the street.

The view is breathtaking, and dining with it is unbeatable. The service is fantastic, the champagne delicious, and the food (with the exception of dessert) wonderful, best lobster bisque ever. (I do have to say that the duck, although great tasting, was a bit overcooked for my taste.) A couple of suggestions: 1) if you do not order the fixed... More

2nd visit to La Tour d'Argent after several years. Stunning view towards Cathedrale Notre Dame, classic service, excellent choice of wine and famous pressed duck were unchanged. We also had a sole fish from the Strait of Dover with curiosity beyond well-known duck. Food may be as good as the other good restaurant but combination of atmosphere of the restaurant... More

La Tour d' Argent is a famous restaurant In Paris. Famous for so many reasons , their pressed duck being one of example. And a wine cellar so large and old that its impossible to get through on your own. Good thing you have your own sommelier to suggest what wines go best with your particular dish. Back to the... There are certain restaurants in Paris that, when you ask a concierge to get you a reservation, gets you a look between disdain and pity. Oh, you poor tourist. 1st on that list is L'amis Louis, reviewed by Esquire as The Worst Restaurant In The World, the La Tour gets you a similar look. It is considered passe-- your grandmother... The view is fantastic. The service wonderful. The decoration outstanding. The history impressive. The food...well not so great. With a family gathering we ordered almost all on the menu among the 10 of us. The famous duck not so great. In recent years multiple stars have been removed from its reviews.

This review is very difficult to write as I do not wish to tarnish the reputation of this bastion of French cuisine, but.... I appreciate that the room must maintain it's traditional feel, so I was willing to overlook it's somewhat dated appearance. The view from our table by the window was unchanged and magnificent. The service was professional, if... More

The ambiance, view (of Notre Dame), service and most especially the food are most memorable. A "must do" when in Paris!! If you treasure first class dining.

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
