Yes the views are wonderful and we were fortunate to have a window seat. There is a high level of formality bordering on a bit stuffy but that is the tradition and I accept that. The service is impeccable but not very personal. My wife had the lobster bisque and I had lobster both of which were superb. You are... More

This was my 5th meal at La Tour d'Argent in the last 40 years. No, I do not live in Paris; but for me, this restaurant continues to be clearly one of the very best places to eat on earth. The duck is of course the flagship dish... but, your really need to include all the courses that magically appear... More

The BEST restaurant I have ever been to! Service second to none, fantastic hospitality by the service staff and mr Rosseau and A wonderful lady who is related to the Terrail family who drop by our table also during dinner. I have read all the reviews over the years and could not afford the thirty dollar price as it jumped to etc etc etc and for our 38th Anniversary arrived for lunch... More

This was a meal, I will remember for many many years to come. Unquestionably among the best fine dining experiences I have had (or likely will have) in this lifetime. Gracious, in every way, beyond description. The setting could not be more romantic, the service impeccable, the wine list was significantly bigger than the manhattan telephone book. Go and be... We had a lovely lunch at the Tour d'Argent. The delicious duck is their signature dish and was prepared in front of us on a raised dais. The views of Notre Dame over the river are fabulous and the setting couldn't be better. Foie gras amuse bouches were lovely. Likely the finest (and very large wine list) in the city.... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
