The bouillabaisse is better in the summertime

Dear friends, I have tried this place 4 - 5 times over the past several years. The last time was last November. It's a chic, unpretentious little place right on the "Place de l'Odéon," with a nice ambiance, warm lighting, original sketches, etc. by Jean Cocteau hanging on the walls (and even... read more

A elegant restaurant, with beautifully painted walls serving wonderful seafood and fish dishes. We enjoyed sea bass, scallops, monkfish and bouillabaisse, a terrific wine and of course, desserts of tiramisu and creme brûlée with apple mash. Service was actually friendly and helpful and prices are appropriately high. A great choice for a special evening.

We were with 4 and had a very nice evening. The service was attentive and friendly. We started with oysters and continued with deliciously fresh fish. We all took a different fish and each of us was happy with the choice made. The dome au chocolat appeared to be a better choice than the dessert with marc de gewurztraminer which... More

Caters to a gastronomically educated clientele, fresh oysters and seafood cooked to a high level of satisfaction. Had great sole meunière, good wine list, prices are reasonable but hard not to spend as it is well appointed and comfortable, good service, tables close but not too much, nice clarity as most in windowed. Reserve in time.

Crushed red velvet cushions, coat check girls, and mural painted walls. Good quality food, reasonably priced for Paris.

This is a favourite, 2nd time around and still as good. You might need to reserve a table as it is quite popular. The food is wonderful, excellent service and for sure a pleasant experience!

We have dined here a a half dozen times. The food is consistently high quality and service tops. We stay nearby when we visit Paris and rarely miss going to this restaurant.

If you are attending theater at the Odeon, this restaurant is across the street. Wonderful seafood dishes in a comfortable and quiet environment. This is not a french basserie--with its crowding and noise. This is a traditional restaurant with a great decor and a comfortable ambience.

Four of us, one in a wheel chair, were graciously accommodated at the start of their evening dinner service (7:30) after having made reservations in person earlier that day for what turned out to be their last table. We were given a good one. The fish was fresh and beautifully cooked and perfectly accompanied; the grand cru chablis was also... More

The setting on Place de Odeon is magical, the service divine and the food is better than either of those! I love the sea bass carpaccio to start and then I can never decide among the main courses but you cannot go wrong with any fish entree and if you aren't in the mood for fish then have the lamb... Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
