good for a dinner out and meet solid age Parisean

I would advise to get your dress and ties and you would be one of the mass high ranking Gents and Mams to enjoy an in deed hi quality dishes, though as you wish to appear, but the taste of cuisine still wonderful.

This is a seriously good fish restaurant. No fancy nonsense, just great fish with simple sauces. Nice quiet street for the terrace, lovely room inside. Staff very attentive and pleasant, prices are what they should be. This place epitomises what eating out in Paris should be about.

I come to Paris twice a year for about 6 weeks and am in the 6e so I walk by La Mediterranee lots of times; beautiful square, love the history, light is usually very good. It always looks nice and I always think I must go. Well, we finally did with not too high expectations probably. We reserved for a... More

We are frequent travelers to France and have spent the last four American Thanksgivings in Paris. We have eaten at la Mediterrereane twice at each trip, mostly for the Dover sole. The service has always been poor but this last time was over the top. The waits for taking an order, or heaven forbid, getting a menu, were forever. When... More

First time in Paris, we found this restaurant by accident. What a find........! A warm welcome, for "non french speaking Brits". Found us a lovely table and served us a really fantastic dinner. We really felt that we'd started our trip at the top....... Wonderful friendly service, great food, fantastic ambience. I would suggest that all visitors put this restaurant... More

The location is great, just in front of the National Theater of the Odeon, on a sweet square (parking valet available), the stage set is charmingly Parisian, designed by Jean Cocteau, with many original vintage memorabilia on the walls, and the food is incredibly fresh and tasty. One of the very best fish restaurants in Paris, definitively.

Our last night in Paris. The place we were looking for was closed so we kept walking in the rain until we came upon a French couple standing in the doorway waiting for the place to open. It was a 10 minute wait but the couple said it would be worth it and were they right. Fabulous sea food specialties.... More

This is such a lovely restaurant right near the Luxembourg Gardens and The Odeon (great outdoor bar in front of the theatre for pre or post dinner drinks). We visited LMDW Fine spirits down the street shopping for a bottle of french apple brandy to bring home and the owner directed us towards La mediterranee to enjoy a meal at... More

Ask for table by the window overlooking l'Odeon. Excellent seafood restaurant, on the expensive side but mostly filled with locals so it must be good.

We came here for a business dinner. The location is very pretty just in front of the theatre. Unfortunately they don't have an outdoor terrrace, just one outdoor table. We took a private room. Food was good but a bit expensive. I had a langoustine salade, a Bar fish and a strawberry tart. I am not a fish fan but... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
