Refined dining with attitude

As we were meeting friends who really enjoy fresh fish, this was an obvious choice. It had been several years since I last dined here, however, standards have been maintained. On Place Odeon, this phenix of a restaurant has been revived. Perfectly sourced spiced and cooked dishes, this mostly seafood bistro is pleasant and quite reasonably priced. Most of the clientele when we dined there were locals and business types. The service is cheerful and attentive.

Ordering needs almost a half hour. The dishes we ordered have been ok but not exceptional. Given the price it's just good

Around August 20 few restaurants were open in Paris. My guest and I elected to lunch at the Mediterranee as my guest had never seen the Cocteau paintings on the walls. We took a two course menu priced 29 euros with reasonable choice. Service was quite good, we had plenty of space, the food was very decent. The toilets on... More

Four of us ate dinner in this restaurant. The seafood was excellent, and the service was terrific. I had a fish soup, and the base was extremely flavorful. We had different main meals, including several of the fish filets. All were pronounced excellent. I would recommend this as a nice place to eat on the Left Bank near the Blvd.... More

Very quickly worked out why some reviews mention that the service is a bit "iffy". The young man in the suit who welcomes you, "Julien"? establishes from the start how lucky you are to be dining in his restaurant. Nice suit, good coiffure, self awareness nil. The food is up market and pricey. Clientele largely Americans in Paris. But having... More

We love this place. Great gyros, fish and chips with Greek salad. We will be regulars here. Our next visit will be with friends as they are big fans also.

I had a business meal here just last night, and was really sad that i had to rush and talk about work. I am determined to come back with my other half and/or friends and enjoy a much longer, boozier meal! I had the "Bar Sauvage" which was the most wonderful bass ever, with a lovely herby cous cows. The food was very tasty. But was not impressed by some of the staff. Outside seating would have been wonderful get there early!

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
