Came here on recommendation by our hotel. Had a lovely waitress who was great. Had the 1 kg cote de beef shared between us which was delicious and very well cooked followed by a lovely chocolate dessert. Food was above average but did find a bit pricey when compared with other places serving the same food. Great service

Dined here with a friend recently as the prices seemed reasonable while in the St-Germain area on a trip to France. We were greeted by friendly staff (Who spoke good English, which was a bonus for us!) and a fantastic environment. A good choice of music was playing and the room was decorated with lots of lovely and interesting photos.... More

I love this charming restaurant in my favorite neighborhood in Paris. The food is consistently wonderful and the service is warm and welcoming. It is also one of the few places that has great cuts of well prepared meats. The outdoor seating is great in good weather since there is little car traffic on the street.

The meal with friends was merely indifferent, a 3 perhaps, until we got to desert. I ordered Tart Tatin - a French classic that you'd expect a classic French restaurant to be able to turn out well. What arrived was a grey, mushy object that was soggy, with a really odd taste. I sent it back and lo and behold... More

We were here on a Friday and the place was fairly busy downstairs. They had English menus and the food came surprisingly fast after ordering. But the food was nice and the service efficient. I would recommend it for a nice evening out, but it is nothing out of the ordinary.

I having been going to "La Grille St-Germain" since I discovered the only place to stay in Paris is St Germain/ St Sulpice some 40 years ago it has always been reliable with Theiry running the restaurant for many years. The food has always been country French with a mixture of modern. Starting with Tomate Crevettes followed by Faux -fillet... More

Because of several factors, we ended up going to this restaurant and from the start it was not very good. The wait staff was discourteous and the food was below average. One of our party had to send back her food because as she eating it she discovered that there a piece of paper on her plate under her entree.... More

We've been going for years and is consistently good! Great escargots, good Foie gras and patè de Campagne, steaks are so-so, salad with smoked duck prosciutto is great and I love specially "la Tête de Veau" which lately is hard to find elsewhere. Service is friendly and very helpful! Maybe the people that have complained about the service, just showed... More

We had just arrived in Paris and wanted to dine early. Since most of the surrounding restaurants did not open until 7.00pm and it was only 6.30 we thought we'd try this place out. I don't mind restaurants that cater for tourists. What i object to is rude service. The food was average. We did not have to wait very... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
