This has been an institution, a high level brasserie with the reputation of welcoming stars of the politic world. Now it's more a good french brasserie, with good food and "valeurs sures" and excellent wine list. We had an excellent Pommard to accompany leeks prepared in a unusual way with girolles and vinegar and a juicy piece of beef with... More

the perfect resturaunt, amazing food, a well priced menu for what it was, I had squid with inked rice and my partner had the pork belly and although the portions 'look small for what westerners expect, it fills you up and at the end of the day, it's about quality not quantity which is what they provide, and their service... Five of us came here on New Year's Eve to celebrate a surprise proposal that took place just hours before. We couldn't have picked a better restaurant (found it online when planning our trip to Paris). They had red and white rose petals all over the restaurant adding to the already romantic lighting and ambience with very light music playing... More

Visiting Paris for a few days, we were staying locally and found La Gauloise as we were looking for a place to have lunch. The decor is warm and stylish, reminiscent of power-lunching in the 90s. The menu was diverse and had a broad range of options available. Service was friendly and prices very reasonable. Highly recommendable. For people looking... More

Brilliant food, stylish and warm atmosphere, wonderfully gracious people... our experience could not have been better. As we entered the restaurant, we were immediately struck by two things - the charm of the dining room and kindness with which we were greeted. The host was genuinely happy to find a table to our liking, the waiter was very helpful, and... More

Sure we didnt try many restaurants in the 5 days we were there but the food here was brilliant. We ate here on the first night in paris and all other restaurants were measured by La Gauloise and they were found wanting.

The food was very tasty and nicely presented (Terrine, fish, Duck breast, chioux with chantilly and strawberry) without being exceptional. Helpful, friendly staff, all of whom had good English skills. (We avoided the terrace on this visit because of the noise from a truck parked with motor running.)

Enjoyed two meals here, the second on our 30th wedding anniversary. They even made my husband another soufflé because the chef wasn't happy with his first one.

This restaurant was suggested to us by our cousin, who lived in Paris for several years. It was just across the street from our hotel. The food was excellent, the wait staff very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was excellent. We ate outside by the street and watched the activity. I think it is only open for dinner, but...
