Great Experience

I was in Paris for 5 days and ate out 3 meals a day. This was the ONLY restaurant that made me felt unwelcomed as an American tourist. There showed us to the worst located table in the restaurant even when there were at least 4 tables open. He took our order and wasn't pleasant at all, he was very... More

Came here late, and was seated within 30min. The meal was great, and our waitress was wonderful. We ordered the lamb special, medium +, which was the equivalent of Medium rare in America. Would have liked it cooked a bit more, but it was still tastey. Desserts were great too, all around a great meal in the shadows of the... More

I was recommended this place by a colleague who is part french... couldn't have asked for a better recommendation. We walked in and were lucky to get a table for 4 on a tuesday night (phoned up and couldn't get another reservation on the saturday unfortunately) Service is attentive and friendly, even though we didn't speak too much french, atmosphere... We thought the food was good but not great, maybe our fault because we've been so spoilt by really wonderful meals on this trip. The service was good and the atmosphere was fun

While walking the streets of Paris, we stumbled upon this very good french restaurant. While looking at the menu outside of the cafe, a woman who frequents this establishment told us we would enjoy the food... and she was oh so right! We went during the early afternoon and decided to start with Escargot. We chose the option of having... More

The place couldn't be more picturesquely Parisian and the welcome by the staff couldn't have been warmer. But the blanquette de veau was a small portion of dry, not tender veal and the reasonably pleasant sauce was depleted of flavor by too much rice. I refer you to the mind-blowing version at Chez Denise, when it's on the menu. The... More

The Fountain of Mars murmurs invitingly to passers-by and American presidents on official visits. But make no mistake, this ia a traditional bistro - checked table cloths, moleskin banquettes and straw-bottom chairs. This establishment is all about products from the South-West of France. ... cassoulet with tarbesbeans, Basque country blood sausage and tourtiere landaise prune pie. But the firm doesn't... More

We saw this after we'd eaten at the Cafe Constant next door - also excellent - and decided to try it the next evening. We booked via the concierge at our hotel who also recommended it as a place to go when we mentioned it to him. It is a typical Parisien restaurant. As usual table pretty close together but... More
