La Fontaine de Mars was recommended to me by 2 people, in fact the only restaurant that ever came up in trip planning discussions. True French experience, lovely atmosphere and a short walk from Eiffel Tower in a beautiful area. We had the Escargot, Rabbit, and creme brûlée. Very satisfied and understand why it was so recommended.
Really good food, great service and good atmosphere. Our visit was on a busy Friday night but it felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant. The waiters were really attentive to all our needs from start to finish. The glasses were filled quickly and the food was delivered very efficiently at a good standard. There was a...

If you want to try a French gastronomic restaurant in the 7th, don't miss la Fontaine de mars. Service is excellent. Ideal for business lunch or a lovers diner.
I ate at Le Jules Verne (the restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower) and let me just say that La Fontaine de Mars absolutely blew it out of the water (at least food-wise. We can't get that kind of view anywhere else). Absolutely magnificent. Every dish. It was so memorable I insisted on returning when I visited Paris...

La Fontaine de Mars was recommended to us by a local and is within about 10 minutes of the Eiffle Tower. We had not made reservations so were unable to secure an outside table. It was a lovely upscale restaurant with very friendly staff. I had the Coq au Vin that came in a cast iron pot that was outstanding....

Husbands roast chicken and mash was adequate but dull. Pudding (again a special of the day ) was fresh strawberries but so cold from the fridge they were nearly frozen...

This is our second trip to this restaurant and we had a second enjoyable meal. I would agree with the other reviewers who point out that if you don't like English translation menus then this probably isn't the place for you but if you like a warm atmosphere, lively chat and friendly staff then do give it a go.

I admit it, I have a soft spot for La Fontaine de Mars—it is quintessentially French even if it’s full of tourists and expats. I love the oversized, starched red and white checkered linens and warm lighting; I enjoy the charming, flirty staff who work hard and are efficient though often quite busy (I’ve had slow service from time or...

Food was inconsistent. Great goat cheese tart. Mushroom pate was gritty, Hericort verts were mushy and waiter forgot them as side order. I would say very overpriced but good ambiance. Would not recommend.
