Great Restaurant and Staff

We arrived late one night just about closing time. The Manager had the kitchen stay open late so we could eat there. Everything was very good. Even though the restaurant was just about to close they offered to serve us dessert and even called us a cab.

The meat was tough and the house wine unimpressive. It is Paris, and you can do better. I would rate it a "3" for food but for the price charged I knock it down a level.

Had a 3 course meal & every one was delicious. I was with 3 other people and they all thought theirs was delicious too. The service was good. The restaurant had lots of character & had a great atmosphere. It was also a short walk away from the Eiffel Tower - which at night was lovely.

In 2001, friends of mine and I happenchanced upon this small restaurant located next to an ancient Roman fountain. It is located only a few minutes' walk from the Eiffel Tower on a side street. The food is succulent, flavorful, and temptingly presented. My favorite is an appetizer in which eggs are poached in a beef/burgundy sauce & served with... More

We chose this restaurant based on Rick Steve's and TA reviews. The meal & service were booth very good - but missed the French feel based on so many tourists (we were seated upstairs - I think that the main floor is 'reserved' for non-tourists). We both enjoyed the steak - cooked well and very flavourful. I would recommend this... More

As others have mentioned, La Fontaine de Mars is one of the most pleasant and classic brasseries in Paris, which features classic Southwest French cuisine. We were met by the ever smiling Madame Boudon and seated at a table in the centre of the restaurant, and immediately meant to feel as welcome guests. We enjoyed watching the various dishes served... If you love escargot, duck confit & steak this is the perfect place to dine. Its has a wonderful scene with very friendly waiters. Unfortunately, its filled with tourist, so you don't get the french feel. Nevertheless, the food is very good and they have a wonderful wine selection.

The menu was varied - both food & wine. The charcuterie plate was yummy, I'm not sure exactly what I ate but it was good! The steak & fries were great but the best part was the dessert - fresh strawberries with a pistachio sabayon. I could've eaten just that and been happy.
