This was our 3rd time in Paris and 3rd time in La Cordonnerie. And once again what an experience! One of the best in Paris. We stayed 5 days in Paris this time and went to La Cordonnerie 3 times. Every single time was such a great experience.

There is nothing flash about this place other than the food which is from the heart cooked in front of you if you are lucky as we were. YOu can talk to the chef as he cooks and watch him in action. Excellent food, not in a fussy or gourmet style. We enjoyed wonderful scallops, guinea fowl and an an... More

Tonight ends our 2 week vacation in Europe, and we chose to eat dinner here. It was an excellent choice. The veal and steak were not as tender as you would expect in the U.S., but the sauces made up for this. The cucumber salad was very tasty and custard dessert excellent. Restaurant is very small and reservations recommended. Go... More

We walked from Hotel de Louvre to La Cordonnerie. The staff was very friendly and attentive, the chef visited our table to show us the daily specials then we watched him cooked our meals. This restaurant is charming but has limited seating so make a reservation and Enjoy a wonderful meal.

Small, intimate, and with exceptional food & wine this was just the reprieve we needed from tourist traps in Paris. Get a reservation and get there on time because they deserve to have every table full (and getting in was a challenge so plan ahead!).

La Cordonnerie was just a short couple blocks from the Louvre but across the Seine. Our group had the beef bourguignon, the fois gras, onion soup and salads. The menu choices were all excellent and the staff is welcoming and attentive. We felt blessed to have walked in on a whim and found a splendid restaurant. The wine list was... More

We booked La Cordonnerie after researching restaurants in the area of our Hotel and found it to be a delightful experience. The specials of the day were Fois Gras and Scallops, and both were fantastic. We noticed that there was only the Scallops as a seafood option, but there were 5 diners on the 2 tables next to us and... More

We have been eating at La Cordonnerie since the mid 1970s. On our recent trip to Paris we enjoyed a delightful lunch prepared by the son of the original owners. The "Escalope Normande" and "concombre a la creme" remain as good as the first time I had them over 40 years ago -- the veal is still bathed in a... More

With reservations made by our delightful friend Alain, two friends from the States joined us for dinner here. The service and food is still both elegant and delightful. And because we had reserved the room adjacent to the kitchen, the owner/Chef Hugo delighted my friends, my wife and I with responses to our many questions (in English, a fact I'd... More

Dined at La Cordonnerie on a Friday evening (closed Sat, Sun)--chef was very helpful in explaining the preparation of the menu items---Food was interesting and good---restaurant is small so email your hotel concierge to make a reservation for you --the location of this restaurant is about 2 blocks from the rue du Rivoli--on rue saint roch--
