More than the great food.

We have visited Paris for decades and lived here for more than two years. We like to find little places with more than great food. This remains one of our two favorite places in the world, ( we have lived outside the US for 17 years as ex-pats). We have eaten there perhaps 30 times. The... read more

What a nice find. Short but excellent menu which delivered great flavors. My regrets were that we did not sit by the chef as dinner was prepared. That will make sense as it is a small place so showing up without a reservation could be trouble past 7:30. Two tables are near the chef. If we had more time this... More

Small, but perfectly formed. This is a restaurant with very few tables - we think we counted seven in total - but high aspirations. Our final meal in Paris, and what a delight it was. How the owner/chef manages to produce such high quality food, in a timely fashion, on his own, in a kitchen smaller than most domestic kitchens... More

Great food. Straightforward but delicious. Had the lamb shank, definitely a winner. The salad with shrimp was excellent, as was the veal. For dessert: bananas flambé.

We searched for this little restaurant after reading a review on here and we were so glad we did. We were lucky to get the last table there are only 6 in total . We were disappointed not to get a table on our last night so booking is recommended . Our table overlooked the small kitchen where the lone... More

We went to La Cordonnerie based on the reviews online and the location. I was beyond impressed. We went for lunch for my mother’s birthday and our friend from Rome arrived to surprise her and the waiter was very good about the whole thing! The house champagne was brilliant and the food outstanding. The chef came to speak to us... More

Six of us ate dinner at this very tiny restaurant, I think it only had 18 chairs. They are only open mon-fri so definitely make a reservation before going. The service was excellent and the food outstanding. Just to let you know we also had dinner at the 7th and 14th best ranked restaurants in Paris and La Cordonerrie was... More

Book ahead if you want to try this place because it is very small. We had a delicious meal from appetizer to dessert and the wine was spectacular too. My husband remarked that it was the best meal he had in a long time. Their fries are particularly notable, but the meat and fish were wonderful too. The service was... More

Small and quaint restaurant. Our seating arrangement was a little cramped for four people in a back corner but watching the chef prepare every meal himself made up for it. He explained what he was cooking if he overheard us talking about it. The veal in mushroom cream sauce was one of the best meals I've ever had. Others in... More

A small place on a quiet side street with genuinely friendly staff and fantastic food. Try the Foie Gras au Cacao. Watching Chef Hugo prepare our meals made the experience all the more enjoyable...à la prochaine!
