Good quality and affordable on Ile St Louis

This restaurant on the Ile St. Louis has great ambiance and service. There is a very good wine list. The delightful and helpful waitress took the time to go through the whole menu interpreting from French to English for us. The foie gras was excellent and the seafood terrine equally delicious... read more

This is one of those restaurants you have to go to in Paris to let people know you went. You have to disregard the mediocre food and base your experience on...OK I WENT. It's like going to Bobby Vans, Ben's Chili Bowl, and Old Ebbitt Grill in DC. I'm not really into bucket list restaurants so I'm not sure why... More

My husband and I had a lovely and delicious dinner at L'Orangerie. The space is charming, classic French. The service was excellent and the hostess spoke excellent English and was very helpful in interrupting the menu. We had the foie gras which was delicious and other items from the ala carte menu. I would especially recommend the pasta. Everything we... More

We had a wonderful meal in this great restaurant on St. Louise Isle, really helpful waiters translate for me as my shameful knowledge of the French language dates back some 30 odd years to school, great food, wine and atmosphere. A great night enjoyed by we two on our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Couldn`t recommend this highly enough. Go there you... More

I was a guest at a dinner celebrating a wedding. Wonderful choice by the hosts! First a wonderful aperitif, followed by an appetizer (Entree) of "La salade de tourteaux aux petits legumes" (Crab salad with vegetables). That was served in a tapered glass. It was light, not fishy at all, and very delicate. The Plat (main course) I chose was... More

We came here for our 20th wedding anniversary dinner after a concert at the Ste Chapelle. We booked earlier in the day and the patronne was very friendly, wished us a good concert and welcomed us later. We loved the food and the surroundings, the service was great, the atmosphere casual but sophisticated and the food delicious and beautifully cooked... More

I went to the restaurant on a Groupon deal, and received impeccable service. Smiles, professionalism, beautifully presented plates. The atmosphere and decor are wonderful. I will be going back.

Okay, it's a bit on the tourist side, but the food is really good, nice wine selection, and the staff are friendly. Living here, I think this is an easy recommendation. Enjoy!

Truly exceptional restaurant in Paris with regard to the menu, food and service. In more detail: Menu - This restaurant offers two menus, either fixed price or a la carte. Both offer a great selection of meat, fish, poultry, and vegetarian dishes prepared in traditional french cuisine. Prices were extremely reasonable. Wine menu was a bit limited, but still offered... Meat was cooked perfectly. At least half of the place looked like locals. Pleasant service, We didn't feel like we were being treated like tourists.

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
