Cozy and great food

The L'Ilot Vache is a tiny, cozy restaurant, with traditional french food. The owners most of time acts as waiters too, and are very patient to explain the details of french cuisine, or to suggest you options if you don't like any ingredient of the plate. My fiancee don't like duck and some other... read more

Our meal was amazing from start to finish. We began with escargots, followed by duck for me and beef bourguignon for my husband. Dessert was tarte tatin and creme brûlée. Excellent menu @39euros each. Our server recommended a nice Bordeaux to accompany our meal. Reserved online and confirmed via email upon arrival. Highly recommend - great atmosphere and very friendly... More

I haven't been here for a year and in the intervening time it has been refurbished. Gone are the white tablecloths and traditional 'decent class' restaurant approach and in comes a variety of hard surfaces along more of a bistro line. I think they have also squeezed in a couple of extra seats as there is very little room between... More

We went here for dinner on our last night in Paris. Online it was suggested no reservations were available, but they seated us right away when we stopped by to see if we could still be seated. My husband and I enjoyed an appetizer each, dinner, dessert, and some wine. Everything was very good!

My wife and I had been twice before and brought our friends from England this time. The food and service is still first class/ we have to say we were a bit disappointed with the new decor except the very cool chic modern toilet they recently installed We would definitely come back

Just a word of warning. We were looking forward to visiting this well-recommended restaurant and got directions from the hotel concierge. However, when we arrived the place was closed and didn't even have a sign telling us it was a restaurant! Turns out that it was closed for major refurbishment until the end of April. Hopefully, we'll get to eat... More

The food is good here. There is a large wine list, and the service was attentive. My complaint is that the restaurant is quite expensive, and the quality of the food did not merit the expense.

Very quaint small restaurant on Ile St. Louis, food was plentiful and very good and they have a nice price fixe menu. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. It is very small and you are very close to next table otherwise I would give it a 5 star.

I got a reservation by the email-service from the restaurant, but it was CLOSE. Why? Terrible. I hope next time will be fine. Thank You.

My wife and I recently spent 11 nights in Paris, December 18 to December 29, 2014 and celebrated Christmas there. L'Ilot Vache was by far our favorite restaurant. So much so, that we went there for dinner 3 times and loved every minute of it. Our personal physician is a frequent visitor to Paris and recommended it as his favorite.... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
