Paris and Normandy trip 2014

Very quaint small restaurant on Ile St. Louis, food was plentiful and very good and they have a nice price fixe menu. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. It is very small and you are very close to next table otherwise I would give it a 5 star.

I got a reservation by the email-service from the restaurant, but it was CLOSE. Why? Terrible. I hope next time will be fine. Thank You.

My wife and I recently spent 11 nights in Paris, December 18 to December 29, 2014 and celebrated Christmas there. L'Ilot Vache was by far our favorite restaurant. So much so, that we went there for dinner 3 times and loved every minute of it. Our personal physician is a frequent visitor to Paris and recommended it as his favorite.... More

I booked a reservation for Monday January 19 for 4 people, immediately got a confirmation email from L'Ilot Vache, and headed over there at the appointed time. Well, there was a sign in their window that they're closed from January 16 until mid-March for renovations. How can they still be accepting reservations? My guests and I went out of our... More

We had been to a concert at the tiny Theatre St Louis and were looking for somewhere to eat.We passed a few restaurants until we saw this, read the menu outside and decided it was worth a try. They had a table for 2 . We decided to have the set menu , which has several choices for 36 Euro.... More

Went here on the recommendation of friends. The food was as advertised, very special. Took advantage of their three course menu. The lamb was perfectly cooked with a wonderful sauce. The Boeuf Bourguignon au Chocolat Noir was another treat. The service started off very attentive and as the restaurant filled up the service went down hill. Almost 20 minutes went... More

Our group of four liked the look and feel of the dining room, the fresh flowers, the service, and the food. The location the corner of two streets with lots of pedestrians makes it feel like a hive of activity outside, but peaceful inside. The prix fixe is a bargain. Pro- portions were actually quite large for all of our... More

This place is stunning. Away from the main tourist trap on the island behind Notre Dame, it is lively yet cosy with a really inviting interior of extravagant floral decorations, exposed stone walls, subdued lighting and lots of cows to count (apparently the island was once home to cows, hence the inclusion of cow (vache) in the restaurant title. Excellent... More

My wife and I stayed on Ile Saint-Louis for a week in Oct 2014. L'Ilot Vache was nearby and I concur with all the positive reviews. Service and food were great, prices decent. I had duck confit (the best Ive had) and my wife Beef Bourguignon which she enjoyed. The patès, cheeses, salads and desserts (tarte tatin and creme brulee)... More

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
