This restaurant manages to combine the most absurdly expensive prices with the most mediocre food that I have ever had the misfortune to experience. To begin, we were offered a champagne aperitif (at €38 per glass) which was left over from lunchtime and flat – I had to ask for two fresh glasses and you are left wondering whether the... more

Yes it is expensive, but our four-course menu was among the best meals I have ever had and certainly the best strictly-vegetarian meal; the attention to the freshness of the ingredients and the invention of many courses, it was magnificent. The service was top, not a fault, and the wine list and sommelier were excellent. The decor is understated and... more

We had a very lovely meal at Arpege, and I for one appreciated all of the vegetables as opposed to heavy foie gras-type food. The tasting menu was inventive, though I only loved about 80% of it. Our service was also excellent. The decor is not very warm or romantic. I'm a little surprised that this place got 3 Michelin... more

As I'm headed back into Paris today my wife and I were reminded of our last trip to Paris. Definitely I would have to agree 100% with poster "souplady-two". We paid over $600 for 2 people for a totally non-memorable dinner. For these type of places you should be talking about the food for years. Maybe it was just an... more

First off - let me say that I've eaten at some very expensive restaurants that were definitely worth the cost. So for me to say this one wasn't - that should be worth something. And it wasn't. The tasting menu is a mere 340 euros per person - and for that kind of money you'd expect each and every dish... more

Mr. Passard took the culinary world by storm when he created a 7-course vegetaria menu. It was such a beautiful experience to taste the complexity and textures, paired with great wine. more

L'Arpege in Paris is a three-star Michelin restaurant. It caters mainly for vegetarians although there are seafood and a couple of meat items on the menu. Service was excellent. Although the menu is only in French, one of the staff was happy to translate every item. My husband and I chose items from the a la carte menu rather than... more

I took my wife to L'Apege for her 70th birthday. 3 Michelin stars - it must be great. The price was great and that was about all that was. Not being a vegetarian I found the menu disappointing. Why does the restaurant not admit it caters mainly for vegetarians? I wrote to the owner afterwards. He did not have the... more

First of all, we were very impressed with the staff, it was the best service we ever had in a restaurant. But I think it is the quality of the food that makes a restaurant memorable. Both my wife and I thought the four dishes we had were executed very well but they were bland, bland, bland. The first thought... more

We went here for my partner's 50th birthday and had easily the best meal we've ever had. We had the tasting menu, which the chef modified to substitute seafood for the meat dishes. We didn't quite manage to finish the menu - we had to give in after the first desert - but that was after 11 courses. The environment... more
