Very good seafood

This is a small restaurant across the street from and related to La Fontaine Gaillon, a rather posh restaurant in a 17C townhouse “supervised” by Gérard Depardieu. Our restaurant was tiny, and we ate upstairs, alone at first, then joined by others. We had six oysters each, Fines de Claire No... read more

I spent quite some time trying to find this place, having visited it about 5 years ago during my last trip to Paris. But, even after all this time, it was well the effort! The place had only changed in interior decoration of the entrance floor but otherwise, the service, the pleasant staff and the food, is still excellent. The... More

Have had so many great seafood dinner here and never any disappointment. Short menu but all great dishes. Everything is fresh and always cooked to perfection. Small place and best table is upstairs next to window. Must try when you are in Paris!

Very small place, best you make a reservation. Nothing fancy, just excellent and fresh oysters and langoustines. I had lunch there and enjoyed my oysters so much :-)

This restaurant has a short menue, but every item is amazingly fresh and superb! You will not disapoint. As the restaurant is small, I suggest you book a table in advance. However, the owner is polite and let us in although we didn't book.

Although the outdoor table which we requested was "reserved" the owner/chef made it available to us and the waiters attentive service was a delight. Fresh crab, sardines done in a tart and lightly fried calamari all were delicious. A cosy neighborhood restaurant with a touch of class. Highly recommended.

L'ecaille de la Fontaine (La Perle) is located just a few blocks from the Opera. Reservations are a must! They only have seven or eight small tables upstairs and a few outside (weather permitting) with a couple of seats on the street level. The menu is only seafood, it changes every day, and consists of only four or five main... More

Outstanding fresh fish with great accompaniments. Great food in Paris is often found in such little places, not just the " chi chi " ones. Not our first visit and not our last.

The restaurant is very small - one tiny room upstairs with 6-8 small tables each for two persons. We made a reservation, however the room was almost empty (Wednesday). We ordered the seafood plate for two persons (82EUR) - fantastically decorated, excellent combination of various seafood (crabs, oysters, mussels, crawfish, shrimps, ...). As dessert we ordered Crème brûlée and Mille-feuille.... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
