Kirane Restaurant in Paris between l’Etoile and Porte Maillot has the estimable Kirane at its heart, a warm and dedicated restauranteuse who has brought the delicate spicing of her native Punjab to the capital. The restaurant is stylish and elegant, with creamy walls, authentically embroidered banquettes, benign statuary and rare wooden carvings. The menu features Punjabi dishes inspired by the recipes of Kirane’s own mother and grandmother using secret combinations of flavours that have earned Kirane the soubriquet Mistress of Spices. Dishes include tikkas, jalfrezis, masalas, biryanism and kormas in Discover and Tradition menus. The set menus at lunch and supper are excellent value.

Best Indian food

I go very often to check on this restaurant how are they doing and I can say that they are still the best in west Paris. The service is very nice but you have to know that the waiters do not speak very well French or English so you have to be a little bit patient. Point out on the... read more

This service at this restaurant is the worst I've experienced. The owner clearly has no respect for the patrons, who happen to be paying for her place to run. She seemed quite insecure was really loud and obnoxious, and kept comparing her food to other restaurants in Paris. I was tempted to walk out half way through the meal. The... More

The only good thing about this restaurant is its nice interior decor: which is however offset by a high noise level. The staff is arrogant, gets easily angry and answers back to even the simplest of requests. The food portions are very little: however, the food itself is ok (though not spicy) and the naans are good. Best to avoid,... More

Took the set menu with the dish of the day - chicken tikka masala. Got to be the worst I've eaten in 30 years - just bones in sauce. As for nan - included, cheese nan 2euro more and my keema nan 8€ more.

I visited this restaurant in Jan 14th after reading good reviews in TripAdvisor. The staff are nice and helpful. Food is prepared to your taste with appropriate level of spice. Please note that for 11 Euros (main course) the quantity is less than child portion anywhere else in the world. It was about 3 table spoons of 'paneer masala' enough... More

My husband and l live in the area and we dropped in one night for dinner. The place is a pretty typical Indian restaurant and we were encouraged by the fact that the staff was Indian as well! The service was good but the food was quite bland and had NO kick. I guess we need to emphasize that we... More

Very good choices, excellent sauces. The best indian we have found in the 16/17 vicinity. Service is good, not great, and English spoken. Decent value, but not cheap by any stretch.
