....but rather, a branché French restaurant serving mediocre Japanese food, complemented by mediocre service and steep prices. This is a concept restaurant - low lighting, multi-leveled, lounge music. The food is part of the journey and clearly not the destination. The menu is your basic Japanese fare - seaweed salads, maki, tempura, sushi, sashimi, various hot dishes. I started with... More

I love their food, the prawn tempura salad was good and the prawn tempura roll was really delicious. When you book ask for a table at the first floor, the service is much better up. I didn't have time for the dresser but I saw it on the next table and it looks wow...

Adrian at the Mandarin recommended Kinugawa for dinner and we made an early reservation. The interior is large, on several levels and quite well designe. We both ordered the Kinugawa menu and were efficiently served a wonderful assortment of Japanese food. The quality and presentation was top-notch, Service was excellent but the restaurant was not yet crowded. In a city... More

you may say it is pricey, and yes, I'd say it is for special occasion or a treat, but so far it was the best Japanese in Paris we tried. once youa re in - the service is impeccable, but the front desk is a typical Parisian 'it is your problem' kind of a service (I even got a look... More

No doubt about the quality of the food which is good. However not amazing.. Atmosphere is nice, lower floor more quiet intimate ( a lot of couples ) upper floor more lively. lounge music, low lighting, very nice chic looking people attending the place. Service is slow, even very slow. Welcome is cordial but not very warm. Compare to other... More

Obviously, it is "branché" - fashionable - a place to be seen ! But it is also a very good place for a very good diner. So ti is wot-rth going there and meet the parisian life. YES it deserves a good rating and we like to go there for a special evening.

The food is exquisite and well worth the price. I highly recommend their specialties as they are delicious. From starters to sushi to main dishes and desserts everything was on point. The service is fantastic as well, very friendly and detail oriented. Additionally the decor is fantastic, sets a classy, elegant yet modern atmosphere. Highly recommend this place, just call... More

This is The Japanese Restaurant. In no other occasion I could find such a perfect combination of ambiance, class, service and excellent Japanese food outside Japan. The menu is sometimes short on some options (the day I visited I could find no sign of Kobe beef), but leaves no doubt as to the excellency of the restaurant. If you feel... More

I had a great lunch at Kinugawa. I had the Omakase menu. The food was very creative with a touch of French flavor, beautifully presented. I enjoy the new decor since the restaurant reopened and particularly the street level dining area. Service was good and pricing in line with the quality of the house. I recommend Kinugawa and will come... More

Japanese food is unsurpassed in Paris, at this otherwise trendy spot favoured by locals, and tourists from nearby up-market hotels. I can think of another two maybe that compete with the variety of dishes and quality of produce that the impeccable waiters bring to your table in just the right quantities (dishes are to share) and at perfect pace. The... More
