Excellent food with lots of history in the walls

Centrally located with a great atmosphere and very friendly, bi-lingual staff. But the main reason to visit is the food. It's excellent. Can especially recommend anything that has foie-gras in its name. The restaurant also has a very respectable wine cellar.

We've known for months that we will Dine in Paris. There are truly so many outstanding Chefs, new and old, that share their culinary magic with us in the way that they prepare, cook and present their Passion upon a Plate. Having said this Leslie and I still pour over review after review thru Tripadvisor because the people that support... More

I read about this place from David Lebovitz' blog and we were not led astray! Reservations are a must though, even in August! The place is really small but cozy and the wait staff only speak French. But let me tell you....it has the BEST boeuf bourgignon ever!

Delightful wait staff, very attentive. The food was fabulous from the Salmon starter, the beef bourginon, the veal liver(outstanding!) and the grand mariner soufflé . What a meal! We were very glad we chose this place.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at this bistro. The food was very tasty and the servings were extremely generous. Service was friendly and very professional. Very lovely ambience and good value for an authentic French bistro. Highly recommended!

This place is memorable. A valet escorted us from our taxi (he also walked a block in order to get us a taxi when we were leaving). Service was that attentive throughout our meal. We started with foie gras, which my dining companions declared excellent (I have limited experience). The beef bourguignon was beyond delicious and my first real soufflé... More

Chez Dumonet is somewhat far down Rue Du Cherche-Midi, a location that’s hidden from the throngs of tourists that come to these popular streets. We dined here last night and arrived to find just a few small tables outside, and beautiful original doors opened allowing natural air to drift in on this cool, late July evening. Stepping inside, we admired... More

I had fairly high expectations which were, I guess partially met. My starter, a pate de campagne was delectable. The confit de canard looked scrummy when it came out but it was very disappointing- fatty and greasy and dry at the same time. Grand marnier souffle was massive but underwhelming. Service is ok. ‎Wines by the glass- no choice whatsoever.

Dropped in by accident. We soon realised that we was stucked by good fortune this afternoon. The restaurant was full booked by people that seemed to be returning costumers. We was lucky to get a table outside. The food was exelent. The service was most charming and very good. Highly recomended!

After reading all the nice reviews about Chez Dumonet we made reservations for our last dinner in Paris. We had the Beouf Bourguignon, Duck Confit, Millefeuille de Pigeon for the mains and Grand Marnier Soufflé and Millefeuille for dessert. Also had a great bottle of red. All perfect, still dreaming of pigeon:)) Hope to visit again
