We had read & heard that this is the #1 bistro in Paris so we had to try it. The decor & atmosphere is very French but felt authentic & not kitschy. We got the last order of Beef Bourgonion (sp?). It was tasty but meat was a bit fatty. We also shared a delicious shrimp starter. Someone we were... More

I can barely recall if he menu is even in English but there will be familiar favorites like Beouf Bourginon and Duck Confit. It's probably the best duck confit in the city, as attested by numerous food bloggers based in Paris. Interiors are warm and take you back to the old glory days. Service is warm and friendly - certainly... More

Went here a few months back. Fantastic food. The duck confit is great but I think there are other equally great places for duck. The entire menu is just solid top to bottom, especially starters (terrine, foie gras). I will say that the Grand Marnier souffle is epic... but not my style. I actually like Grand Marnier but this souffle... More

A lovely bistrot with excellent food. The menu is made up of French classics such as foie gras, duck confit and beouf bourguinon, the later which it is famous for. The grand marnier souffle is also an oldie but a goldie. The food is not exciting but it is delicious and servings are generous so I recommend sharing the beouf... More

We read the reviews and went for lunch with some trepidation. Honestly, I wonder if the other reviewers went to the same restaurant as I did? The food was superb and the waitstaff was friendly and efficient. I had boeuf bourguignon which was lovely with well balanced flavours. I'm not a huge carnivore, but it could quite possibly be the... I felt compelled to write about our fantastic dining experience at Chez Dumonet a month ago. We were staying at the 6th arr. and wanted a solid, traditional French restaurant that is not overdone or too fussy. It did not disappoint. The food more than lived up to our expectations. They gave us complimentary gazpacho and white wine to start... More

My husband chose this restaurant for his birthday dinner on our last night in Paris, and we were not disappointed. He Googled, "best boeuf bourguignon in Paris," and we were sent here. The restaurant was full, but we were able to get a table outside. Our waiters were polite and we enjoyed the service, contrary to what others have written.... More

The headwaiter ' Augusta' whom spoke English was very rude and arrogant. He suggested us to over order knowing that the portion were too big for us( a family of three) ; while the local French were sharing dishes. Overprice and food was at best OK. Apple tart was burnt and soufflé was cold inside.

Disappointing and insulting. You are advised to avoid reaching this restaurant at all costs!! Prohibitively expensive restaurant, very poor quality, poor and abusive service. Both entrees were tiny samples and very expensive. Main course came beef bourguignon tiny size of three small pieces of meat, the waiter explained that it is the largest size and that is all there and... More

The foie gras de canard, boeuf bourguignon, sides, and the Grand Marnier soufflé were all excellent, but that’s not what this review is about. I wanted to address the service at Chez Dumonet, since it has gotten the reputation of having the most snarky and rude waiters in all of Paris. My teenage daughter and I had read the reviews... More
