We have visited Paris in August for the past five years and we have dined at Josephine Chez Dumonet each time. It is a classic and I do believe that it is a family owned restaurant that has remained in the same family for many years (do correct me if I am wrong). You will find that locals dine there... More

I cannot stop thinking about the meal we had at Chez Dumonet. MAKE A RESERVATION, the place is small and THAT good! We were given a complimentary glass of champagne when we arrived which was a nice touch. My boyfriend and I ordered the duck confit (best of my life and my mouth is watering just thinking about it) and... More

Must have a reservation to enjoy this wonderful establishment! From the moment you sit down you are served a glass of white wine, which to me already starts me off in a great mood! Then we were served a taster of soup to enjoy, which was excellent. If you have the expectations to be consistently waited on, then this is... More

I am a chef, I work around NYC for 30 years. I know food, it's my job. Every time I am in Paris, I have dinner at Dumonet. It's the real deal. Pro chefs and foodies eat at Dumonet when in Paris.

Our group of ten had a reservation...we ended up in a small private room adjacent to the kitchen. In the states this would not be good. In Paris it was wonderful as we could watch the chef work. The food was all marvelous. We hoped we could dine here again but it was closed Saturday night. (Be aware...many restaurants are... More

A true French bistro, with a primarily French clientele. The food is delicious, authentic, and served with charm.

We went for lunch today. I called and asked in English if there was a table available and was told that the restaurant is full. Then I asked the concierge to book and she managed to get us a table for lunch at 1.15pm. This is the second time it has happened to us. We can only guess how many... More

This restaurant never ceases to impress!! The food is absolutely wonderful. The confit is one of the best I have ever had, and the apple tart will blow you away. Definitely make some time for Josephine "Chez Dumonet"

We visited this lovely restaurant (which was used as a location in the film "Le Weekend") for lunch during a recent visit to Paris. Managed to get the last table outside as it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed a delicious lunch accompanied by well-priced wine. The food was incredibly flavoursome with good portion sizes and accompanied by excellent... More

Overall, this was a first class dining experience for us. We were greeted by all of the super friendly waitstaff, and given a complimentary aperitif and amuse bouche. I had the duck confit while my husband had the beef bourguignon. My duck was perfect. Amazingly crispy skin and perfectly moist inside. Sides also yummy. My husband's beef was so intensely... More
