Great place to visit

I wanted a friendly bar with good food, I was not disappointed. The liver and bacon was fantastic. Better than the usual burger and chips offered by most others in the area. The bar man was very friendly I could have stayed there longer if I didn't have to catch the train

We have dined MANY times at Joe Allen in London, New York and Paris and loved it. 2015 December - Paris - Forget it! Total rip off, small portions, everyone complaining and staff pulling their hair out. Not a nice experience. Chicken Ceaser Salad as a small starter was 11.75 Euros and the bland chicken shreds over a handful of... More

I travel internationally over Thanksgiving quite often, so turkey with all the fixings is a rarity. I was thrilled to find Joe Allen was throwing a traditional meal! The fact that it still had some French culinary influences while retaining all the homey-ness of the holiday meal was fantastic.

I went there for Thanksgiving Dinner in Paris... We were looking for a place to have a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner while working in France for an extended period of time... The dinner did not disappoint... Nice atmosphere, There were several choices for starters, main course and deserts... But the absolute highlight of the experience was when one of the waiters... I am not sure that the Thanksgiving meal is normally on the menu but a school group organized the event, so it would good to call and check before going. I attended a group event which was organized as a 3 course meal for American students studying abroad. The event menu choices were robust, so I won't list all of... More

Back to the old haunt this weekend, feels like an old friend. Ok you're in Paris and this is an American restaurant (part of a chain in London, New York and Miami), to me it deftly combines American hospitality and a French ambience in a warmly welcoming way. Sitting at the long bar chatting to the friendly staff is a... More

What a great bar in the 2nd. Very American but not bad at all. We spent a whole afternoon in it last week and had a great time. Great bar staff and quality atmosphere. Even found a table for 5 later on and ate there, very nice.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
