Food was OK, Architecture & View are Great

I was a little bit disappointed with the food and menu. I was expecting something more higher end but it was more middle-of-the-road. It was good, not spectacular. The menu was very "tourist friendly" aka a bit boring but the view and surrounding architecture are kinda cool. I had the tomato and... read more

The view is very nice, provided you convince the door lady to sit you properly although you don't look like a superstar. The food was so bad that we hardly could eat it. There was no way someone would listen to our complaints, as if they are so much used to it. No go.

Always go to The Georges for lunch on the terrace when in Paris ! Warm, sunny, but shaded is so desired, indoor A/C dining also available. Stunning view of the city ! Somewhat expensive but well worth it. Some of the best service we've ever had, anywhere. Fabulous food, everything is amazing. Great people watching. Lots of beautiful staff and... More

The view is outstanding. The wait staff is very good. The food.....well Chef-Boy-R-Di competes quite well straight out of the can if my childhood memory serves. Linguini was over cooked spaghetti. The lobster must have been cooked yesterday and cleaned by a six year old (no offense intended to the young). My lunch was so bad it was almost laughable.... More

We had a full dinner (appetizer, entrée, dessert, and coffee), but wish we had just gone for a drink and appetizer. The prices aren't outrageous (around 25-30 Euros for an entrée), but the service was pretty bad. Even the locals around us were keeping their own wine glasses full, so don't expect your waiter to attend to you. The appetizers... More

Having researched this restaurant online, I was sceptical having seen some of the reviews. I could not have been more impressed. The staff were brilliant, from finding our reservation and showing us to our table (in fact letting us select the table with the best view), to introductions and taking our various orders, not one moment of bad service. The... More

Basic menu but cooked well. Front staff very rude and completely disregarded our reservation, however our waiter was lovely. Very expensive for what it is, but you're paying for the trendy surroundings, great atmosphere and amazing views.

Although the view from this place is stunning, I would not recommend it at all if you are looking for a dinner reservation that you can count on. They simply want to draw people in so they will take your reservation and then send you to the overpriced bar and make you wait. We waited for over an hour (not... More

We were a party of 3 that wanted to check out the restaurant before considering making reservations next week. We were seated inside for drinks about 8:45pm when the rest of the restaurant was roughly 2/3 full and not very busy yet. We were seated near the center of the room and waited over 20 minutes without being spoken to... More

The view and the setting may be beautiful but it is not worth going. For the view, stay outside the restaurant and admire it from the top of the escalators. The food is terrible. I had a club sandwich and chips. The chips were soft and greasy, the sandwich looked like it had been waiting on the kitchen counter for... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
