Located in the Opéra neighbourhood, Le Drouant is a hot destination eatery – open 7 days a week – with five private rooms and a pleasant mezzanine. It is a real institution! Every year the famous Prix Goncourt takes place in one of the private rooms. You will appreciate its Brasserie ambiance and Art-Deco decoration married with a contemporary design. Black furniture and golden walls create a genuine experience, as well as outdoor seating. Plus, inventive menus seduce a varied crowd and satisfy varied appetites. Let’s relish the Chef’s hors d’oeuvre served by theme, in 4 small portions – Tomato Gaspacho, Peking Prawns, Marbled Ham and Stuffed Fajitas.Other products to taste: Veal Foie gras from Corrèze and roasted Cod.

Good food/wine selection

Ordered leg of lamb for two, was the best I've ever had and it is more thank enough for two. Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Strawberry tart (traditional) was out of this world...a must try.

Very disappointed. We were looking forward to a terrific dinner and were disappointed about almost everything. Such a shame

Recommended dinner location between Opéra and Louvre Pros: +Very well prepared fish and meat, all freshly cooked + Excellent wine list and very supportive sommelier + Seasonal starters and dessert options available, loved the strawberry tart Cons: - Service good but could be better (had to exchange a dirty knife on our table and a broken glass on the next... Excellent food, my lamb shoulder was epic, great choice of wine with a wide range of price options and attentive and friendly service. Prices were very reasonable I had three courses, coffee and a bottle of wine for less than 100 euros.

There was nothing wrong with the food but nothing extremely memorable about it either. Service was prompt and attentive. Portions were a lot larger than I ever expected of OK food. I suspect at one point it was a top notch restaurant but has slid down a notch or two with the influx of tourist.

I went to this restaurant with friends on the recommendation of our Hotel Britannique and we weren't disappointed. The service was great and the food was exceptional - a real find!

A little hard to find but the food and the service more than made up for it. We both had the veal which was very tasty, with two sides each. Macaroni and cheese was "over-the-top" and the veggies were sautéed perfectly! Not a cheap meal, but priced very fairly and would certainly return again.

A weekend in Paris. I had hoped that this beautifully situated restaurant would prove to be an evening to remember. Sadly, despite the charming staff and the beautiful weather; the food was really very disappointing. Forget for a moment the price. I have had better dinners better prepared in Paris and, elsewhere, for half the price. Very disappointed. I do... More

Mission: find a restaurant that is open on Easter Sunday in France, when Sundays are already notoriously difficult for such a task. Also, find one that will take a reservation for 8. Finally, that has a place 6 weeks before Easter Sunday (isn't already booked out). Drouant delivered on all the prerequisites and then proceeded to deliver a meal not... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
