This place is an absolutely brilliant find. Simple menu but outstanding blends of French flavour. The starter was a French type of cheese on top of honey pine nuts and mixed salad it was stunning. The main course stole the show a lamb shank cooked for 7 hours...need I say any more. A fantastic French restaurant with a very friendly... More

Yet again on a trip to Paris we felt compelled to book a meal at Chez Toinette, booked a table for for 6 a week in advance to be guaranteed a table. Wonderful food, great service, delightful experience. We ensured we thanked both the waiter and chef on behalf of all our group. Fabulous!

After reading all the reviews, we decided to come for my birthday, and I am very happy that we did. The service was exceptional and food was amazing. A place I will come back to over and over again.

we came late without reservation, but they were nice to get us seated (3 persons), it is a true French bistro, a friendly service ( I am sorry if I will offend some people, but I have to say this, recently the people in Paris are becoming friendlier than in the past, I do not know your experience but this... Last year I wrote a review (as BrentKC) of Chez Toinette entitled "Favorite Restaurant Three Years in a Row!" and a year later, it's still my all-time favorite! Again we dined here twice during our 8-day stay in Paris. The first night we were a little disappointed that the owner was not present and feared the restaurant might be under... More

I went to Chez Toinette with my friend who is Parisian born and bred and very hard to please! A colleague at work had recommended the restaurant for some typical Parisian food and it certainly didn't disappoint. The restaurant itself is small so I'd definitely recommend booking in advance and it's located in Montmartre, a five minute walk from Le... More

Good little quaint bistro at the foot of Sacre Coeur. Reservations a must. Its not 'haute cuisine' at many of these top trip advisor rated places, but there again, you aren't paying $200 a person either. My wife said best snails ever (yeuch). My foie gras and margret de canard were good. Summary - good solid french food, worth the... More

Would recommend booking as this is a small restaurant and seems to be quite popular. Nice restaurant and we were not disappointed, very friendly service, selective menu choice. Food was very good and presented well. The 2 guys that run this restaurant are great hosts and added to the experience, even if they forgot to bring our wine twice.

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
