A little Gem

Came here with a colleague the first time, I was given the address my a Parisienne, and we thought that it was worth to check it out. The restaurant has changed a little since then, but it's still magical and serves very good food as it used to do. The interior is very cozy, food is very high... read more

On a weekend away in Paris with my husband. Our hotel (Secret de Paris, will review later, also very good) recommended this restaurant and booked our table for 7:30pm. The staff were friendly and helpful. The menu was a choice of around 7-8 different starters/mains/deserts but each one sounded appealing. The food was served extremely hot and was well presented.... This restaurant was recommended by our concierge and it did not disappoint. It's fairly small and intimate, the service is warm and friendly. He even asked if we preferred to try my terrible French or speak "Anglais". I appreciate that he was willing to work with me. The food was excellent, my husband had the foie gras and I had... More

We first visited Chez Toinette last year and were blown over by the quality of food in this small back street restaurant. This year we took a chance and booked it again, hoping it would live up to our expectations. Thankfully it did - fabulous food, excellent wine, and perfect service. Anyone visiting the area should eat here.

This restaurant has become our new favourite restaturant in Paris, and we strongly recommend you to book a table here. The Crew gave us excellent service during our 3 hour visit Saturday evening:-o Go for the nine o`clock seating and you can relax and enjoy your dinner until they are closing the restaurant. We had ESCARGOTS AU GRATIN for starter... More

Our hotel recommended this place to us and they managed to squeeze us in, quite literally, to the corner of this cosy, welcoming place. The room was full of life and laughter, the staff were friendly, funny and attentive. Food was delicious - I had the snails to start which were amazing - the garlic butter was beautiful, followed by... More

Small atmospheric restaurant where the host is beguiling and amusing. Even the chef steps out to say hello. We had grilled goats cheese - best ever, and eggs and cheese baked in a ramekin. Enormous veal chop 10cm deep perfectly cooked in Normandy sauce and lovely beef bouginon. Could not eat any more. Not expensive. Recommend.

I have been coming to Paris once or twice a year for many years and never knew about this restaurant. My friends at the wonderful hotel B-Montmartre recommended it and darn I wish it wasn't the last night of my current trip or I would be eating there every night and I will when I come back in July. Cozy... More

Lovely experience. Small room with a diverse and fresh menu. Chef and staff clearly passionate about food and wine. Restaurant was highly recommended and we were fortunate enough to get a table. Cuisine was fantastic and ambiance was great. Many people turned away at the door due to having no reservation. MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A RESERVATION. Very memorable !

This is a must for anyone visiting Montmatre. The food was incredible and the service was amazing. They didn't roll their eyes when I attempted (poorly) to speak french but instead plastered on a smile and were amazingly friendly. Much love for this place!

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
