My husband and I had been tipped off about this place by a frequent visitor. Wow. It was lovely. Really welcoming and friendly. We ordered the blood sausage and smoked herring for starters; however, due to a broad lancashire accent and dire french vocabulary, the poor waiter brought me crudités instead. They immediately rectified the mistake - even though I... More

Great steak cooked over a fire, a rustic atmosphere and efficient French service - what's not to like about that? We've been coming here for years and it has been great - every time. Mouthwatering steak, cooked perfectly, with a simple side salad and potatoes. The entrees and desserts are great, but it is the meat that is the star... More

Let me start by saying we had a great time at Robert et Louise. It was electric, funky, with a small town feel as the owner sat at the bar drinking Rose most of the evening and his wife was cooking and serving with her staff. Dinner was good, not great, but this isn't just about the food it is... More

First off, as mentioned in other reviews, you just cannot walk into the restaurant - we went around Christmas and the earliest booking we could get was 2 days later. The restaurant itself seems quite cramped - a separate table for just two people is pretty much out of the question, though the other couple on our table seemed friendly... More

Once a restaurant has been featured in a TV travelogue, it is probably tempting for the owners to rest on their laurels. That certainly seems to be what is happening at Robert et Louise, which Anthony Bourdain raved about on No Reservations a few years ago. The moment we stepped inside, we knew we’d made a mistake in coming to... More

The beef rib for two was sensational! We also had the side order of mushrooms which were probably better than the beef rib. A great local Parisian eatery

We visited this restaurant in December and had an enjoyable meal . Reservations are a must as there were numerous people turned away . The setting was very tradional and the open fire where the steaks were cooked added to the the event The menu was fairly simple (maily steak based ) and food was cooked and presented well .If... I have read the very poor reviews of people who visited in December and have to differ. We went on the 29th and found it excellent. Normally we are very critical of the quality and price of steaks in English restaurants but we found these excellent. They were cooked on the open fire/griddle and were just as ordered (5 of... This is a very charming restaurant in the heart of the Marais. We both had the entrecôte which was a very nice piece of meat and cooked perfectly. We had some excellent cheese afterwards. We just told our waiter our general preferences and he brought us 3 incredible tasting pieces. It's important to reserve in advance. There are some round... More
