Lovely rustic food, great setting and staff

We were here last year for dinner and it is lovely. We both had very tasty steaks, cooked to perfection. Also had a very nice bottle of wine. All for a very reasonable price. Staff were very friendly and helpful

I went to this restaurant twice in the space of 4 days. First was with colleagues, the second was with my girlfriend. I cannot recommend this place enough. The inside is brilliantly decorated, the owner is a true gent and entertaining. Then there is the food. Giant steaks cooked on top of a wood burning fire, cooked excellently and served... More

Robert et Louise is generally known as a restaurant for grilled meats but my friend and I use if for something else. When we travel to Paris we fly overnight from Newark, N.J., arriving at approximately 7:30 in the morning Paris time. We either check in or just drop our bags at out hotel in the 6th and head out... After reading all the reviews on Tripadvisor we decided to go to Chez Robert et Louise due to my dad's burning appetite for blood sausage First of all, it took us 4 tries to get a reservation, while dealing with a very rude man on the phone. When we finally got a table, for mind you 2 days after my... More

Fantastic traditional food cooked on an open fire and with a small open kitchen. They were able to fit us in on a Saturday with no reservation. Fast service and exceptional food. Shared seating on large tables (we were downstairs). The shared seating greatly confused a Japanese couple less interested in the shared experience. Only suggestion don't talk to your... More

My friend who is a local brought me there. We had a piece of steak to share, we ordered "saignant" à la française - which is "bloody", what a fantastic meal, the meat melted in the mouth! This is not for the faint of heart or most non French people as the huge piece of meat was on a hot... More

We went to Robert et Louise while staying in the Marais on the recommendation of our host and it was GREAT. Our teen girls loved the potatoes as well as the meat. It is basically a French steakhouse with cuts of meat that they cook in an open fireplace on the main level. The sides were tasty. The wine by... More

Booked here for our first night in Paris, a Saturday (booking definitely recommended). Staff friendly, I thought the service was very good. The two of us were sat at a table for 4 and another pair were also sat at our table, but we didn't mind at all (and were given the option to sit at a table for two... More

Having booked for our Saturday evening meal we were left to wander the streets of the Marais area on Friday in the freezing cold looking for somewhere welcoming, warm and with good food. It was so busy that we had a rather 'shruggy' (you know how only the French can do shruggy?!) waiter said, "You can sit at the bar... More

Cote de boeuf! The honker sized, gargantuan steak for two is succulent, sizzling, and sexy and really I wouldn't consider a trip to Paris complete until you've had this steak. As widely known this is Anthony Bourdain approved which makes you should have no reservations about making reservations here. All I remember in addition to that incredible perfectly cooked in... Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
