Fabulous lamb in a very buzzy restaurant surrounded by meat foodies

I found this restaurant by doing some research. Having spent a wonderful day strolling around Marais, we were looking forward to eating at Robert et Louise. As we had enjoyed lunch earlier we limited ourselves to a main course. My lamb chops were fabulous, and yes I picked the bones clean. My... read more

Am I ever glad that my wife agreed to have a carnivore's lunch. We began with assiette de charcuterie and the cruditiés de saison ... and then the entrecote a point for my wife and the côtes d'agneau grillées saignant for me ... with frites and vegetables for both. We could watch our meat being cooked over the wood-burning grill.... More

It was recommended to me from two different sources. Without thinking about it, I walked past it on the way to Notre Dame, remembered it and stopped in for lunch. Lunch turned in to almost 5 hours of food and wine and was one of my best experiences in Paris. Charming, exceptional, authentic, and affordable. The atmosphere, wine and food... More

Was excited to visit this restaurant. But anyone who expects seasoned meat should not go here. The mean is is brought out in seasoned (you have to do it). Being a meat aficionado, and knowing how salt is a very important part in cooking good meat, I was frustrated.

We stopped by this restaurant on the off chance having read the reviews on trip advisor. Whilst busy, the kind owner managed to get us two seats at the bar downstairs. There is nothing fancy about this restaurant but the meat was amaaazing! The portion sizes were large. The wine was beautiful and we were very well looked after by... More

We always go here when we are in Paris but you have to make a reservation: no walk ins. The place is great for meat lovers but not so good for veggies, their snails are beautiful and delicate. The meat will fill you up for a couple of days because the portions are large. But really its a great place... More

We were at Chez Robert et Louise on a Wednesday night and it was hoping. We ended up sitting at the bar in the basement and while that sounds a little crazy, it was cool, busy and very fun. The food was very tasty. My husband had the lamb shank, I had the duck breast and our son had a... More

If you're looking for typical gourmet French cuisine, walk on. This place is a meat lovers delight with tasty potatoes and salad. Wife had lamb chops and I the ribeye, plus a half bottle and dessert for 67€.Cooked on cast iron, it was well prepared if without any seasoning. We liked the place and would certainly return.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
