we were directed to this restaurant by our hotel staff ( we were staying across the street). the room is small, the tables are right next to each other, and the atmosphere was both comfortable and lively. the menus was in French, but every dish was carefully explained to us. the service was great and the food amazing, so much... I ate here with my wife and we were really treated to a gastronomic delight. This place really is a hidden gem in Paris. Marcel was the perfect host, warmly welcoming, walking us through the menu, and also entertaining all the guests. Remember to book in advance to ensure a table.

Very cosy Authentic French restaurant. Delicious food. The menu was in French but Marcel translated it all into perfect English. Lots of very friendly locals eating there, as well as quite a few tourists. Is very cosy - do not go here if you want privacy! Wonderful waitress and delicious food, would highly recommend this restaurant.

I almost don't want to write a review for this restaurant because I don't want it to be overrun with tourists, but Pierre deserves the glowing review and fellow travelers deserve this info. Our dinner at Chez Marcel was by far the most memorable meal we've ever had in our many times in Paris. The food was wonderful, but that... More

Marcel welcomed us warmly to his small bistro, full of charecter, the wine cellar is under the bar. The tabels are small and close together but it all added to the atmosphere Try the carpaccio to start with and there are good daily specials as well as the main menu. Booking is essential

I cannot find an internet option, or email address, to do this. Is there any way to request a reservation other than to make a long distance phone call? Thanks.

Some friends hd already mentioned and recommended this small place off Boulevard Raspail in Paris. An ivitation by a friend was the best way to try it. I just loved it. Simple, proper French cuisine with incredibly good and tasty ingrédients. The pork carpaccio was simply delicious with an incredibly tasty vinaigrette and the Pollack fillet following was delicious. Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
