Great food, great atmosphere

Marcel welcomed us warmly to his small bistro, full of charecter, the wine cellar is under the bar. The tabels are small and close together but it all added to the atmosphere Try the carpaccio to start with and there are good daily specials as well as the main menu. Booking is essential

I cannot find an internet option, or email address, to do this. Is there any way to request a reservation other than to make a long distance phone call? Thanks.

Some friends hd already mentioned and recommended this small place off Boulevard Raspail in Paris. An ivitation by a friend was the best way to try it. I just loved it. Simple, proper French cuisine with incredibly good and tasty ingrédients. The pork carpaccio was simply delicious with an incredibly tasty vinaigrette and the Pollack fillet following was delicious. Just... More

Dining at Chez Marcel was one of the highlights of our trip - the owner and staff were so friendly - example - while we waited outside for our table to be cleared (we had a reservation - must have - only 15 seats or so), the owner came out on his own accord with a carafe of red wine... More

Opposite where we were staying this little bistro was very charming and it's lyonnaise food was good but not brilliant. Great pink praline tart though

Went here last week having found it through Tripadvisor. Had a brilliant time and brilliant food. It is more than a meal, it's a slice of local culture and experience for everyone to enjoy if they have a mind to. Totally crazy guy running it, with a lovely team behind him. So welcoming and inclusive, you actually feel like you... More

We ate at Chez Marcel at the recommendation of Hotel Le Six and were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. The restaurant is tiny so it has this hustling, bustling feel to it and was such a fun experience. The owner served us and he was quite the character. If we had an extra day... More

Tables are tight (1cm between each one !), and it's full & bustling & busy & gorgeous. Traditional food done well - i had the best Coq au Vin ever here...amazing. You need to book because its tiny - i read that it was full of tourists, but on the Friday night that we were there, everybody was French. It's not... More

This was a memorable evening for us, our last night after a week in Paris. This charming little space is just across from Hotel Le Six (which we also recommend). It's a tiny little spot, so reservations are a must. While there are thousands of places in Paris that you can have a great meal, there are not-so-many that create... More

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
