Best dish of our European trip

It's been 3 weeks since my family and I traveled to Normandy, Paris and Barcelona and I feel compelled to write a review of this restaurant. My Dad ordered the clams in shallot cream sauce special and he was kind enough to share it with me. I can't stop thinking about it....the best dish of the... read more

Food is light, fresh and very tasteful. I had the sandwich club, my wife had the andive salad. Homemade iced tea and lemonade are also really good as they are not too sweet.

The food was amazing and the staff couldn't be more friendly. The owner was really a lot of fun. Chez Marcel really is a must-go restaurant in Paris. It's better to make a reservation in advance. I'll definitely come here again the next time I come to Paris.

We came in late with two kids, but were invited with open arms. The small venue breathes Paris. Food excellent, fresh artichokes, nice cut of veal. House wine is fine, but others are availlable. We'll definately return next time we're in Paris.

Small and cozy place with delicious food. Attentive and friendly staff. Had lunch there once and would like to come back soon.

We visited this restaurant on our first night of a recent trip to Paris, and enjoyed it so much returned for our last night. On both occasions the food and wine were excellent, but the thing that makes this restaurant stand out is how friendly and welcoming the staff are. In addition because the tables are so close together one... More

We are frequent visitors to Paris but this was our first time dining here and this small restaurant ticks all the boxes. Really well prepared French food, good wine list at reasonable prices and a great atmosphere due to a very personable owner / chef and friendly, efficient staff. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant and it will definitely... More

Had dinner here while in Paris with some colleagues and it was a very excellent meal;.. The restaurant is tiny spot with classic French menu items and a great wine list. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to eat out in Paris with normal neighborhood folks.

Locals always know best and most French fine-diners would place Chez Marcel in their top ten. So would I. This place is amazing. The ambiance is welcoming and 'challeureuse' whilst the decor ensures it remains intimate and romantic. The food is great. I would recommend the seabass as a main. Portions are generous and very reasonably priced, with a big... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
