Terrific, friendly and fun

We have been in Paris for 6 weeks and actually live across the street from Chez Les Anges. We go there once a week to seek refuge from the hustle and bustle of Paris. It has become our quiet oasis for lunches. This is not a rowdy bistro or a hipster's brasserie. It's fine dining at a leisurely pace. They... More

The service of this restaurant is great. Of course, the food is great as well. The restaurant firstly served with bread. Really fresh and tasty. My colleagues and I had a soup with foie gras which was absolutely fabulous. Each of us had different main dish: fish, baby pork and beef. My colleague said the cuisson (baking or roasting) was... Truly one my most memorable meals ever. We were in Paris a couple years ago and we were to dine out with one of the most famous cookbook writers in France. I have had many a great meal, but suggested we go someplace truly French, but truly extraordinary. She recommended Chez les Anges. I had all the usual French dishes... More

The lunch menu is really affordable at Chez les Anges and I think it's the best time to go there and have a light and pleasant meal. Service is perfect. Fish and meat are really well-cooked and the food looks really good. Desserts are delicious as well and I enjoy the atmosphere of this restaurant as well as its location.

When a frustrating evening of poor service concluded with the Maitre'd telling us the credit card machine was down and advised us to go across the street to use the ATM, for a $335 dinner tab for two, I dutifully did so. My US bank did not process a large withdrawal, and after a back and forth, they insisted on... More

If you're looking for a niche between the expensive temples of gastronmy and the traditional brasseries, this is the place. Comfortable soft and spiffy atmosphere in a casual context. Nice bar, nice soft lighting. The food is excellent. Deliciously fresh oysters; and a terrrific slow-cooked wild boar with heavenly mashed potatoes to accompany it. Others enjoyed their roasted Bresse chicken... More

I had lunch at Chez Les Anges after 3 hours at the Musee de L'Armee as it was only a short stroll along the Blvd De La Tour-Maubourg. This is a fairly big restaurant by Parisien standards and it was packed by 1.30 on a Thursday. Contemporary decor and very classy. This is obviously a neighbourhood haunt of some very well... More
