L'Ami Jean is my must-do restaurant and it gets better every year. Hearty portions and (among other things) the best pureed potatoes anywhere. Everything is carefully prepared, and sublimely wonderful. The chef’s performance in the kitchen that’s open to the dining room and his interaction with the wait staff adds to the boisterous, fun atmosphere. Make reservations a couple of... More

We went here for lunch on a Saturday and it was great... It's all you expect from a French/Parisien bistro. It's small, cosy, crowded and they serve great food & wine. We had the 'menu decouvert' for 42 euro; a 5 or 6 course (lost count...) lunch menu with soup, quail, tuna, rabbit, dessert, etc... All very nice prepared and... More

What an experience! We had a table right next to the kitchen and could watch Chef Jego create great food. The process was as fabulous as the food, excitable, temperamental, perfectionist. Everything we tasted from the 7 course menu was brilliant. From the first offering, a smokey lentil soup, to the mist petite scallops and clams, to octopus with foie... More

A Friend in Jeans That would be the loose translation of A tiny french basque style bistro located in the heart of Paris, France. Headed by culinary extradonaire, Chef Stephane Jego, this gastronomically captivating restaurant is a favourite among locals and those in the “know” about what inspirational dishes are created here. As non descript and unassuming as it looked... More

We chose the Carte Blanche, which in hindsight was a mistake as their dishes are big and we were on the floor after 70% of the menu, this made us give up 2 dishes (steak and cheeses!). The atmosphere was awesome, and hearing the chef talk (bark?) all the time was part of the fun I guess. The level of... More

The expectations were vey high, and although mildly disappointed, the place is after all a very good gastro. The service was very attentive. I would recommend it

We had a great dinner here with our two sons. All the apps were very creative. Their slow braised beef cheek was delicious for dinner and we loved all the desserts as we shared them. They are known for their rice pudding which was a huge portion - could definitely share with 3 people. A tad expensive but a definite... More

We had the most incredible meal there. ... 12 servings for the tasting menu. Very friendly staff... and even doggy bags foe the desert which we could not finish though delicious because we were too full. The food was original, tasty and in great GREAT amount. I look forward to try it again.

This was one of our best meals in Paris. The chef is a madman (in a good way) and is cranking out fantastic flavors, with classic and not so classic ingredients, and with a focus on providing each and every diner with a culinary experience. Lunch with the chef's tasting menu has to be one of the best deals in... More

We loved this place from start to finish. We went on our first night in Paris. Just go. Pick the tasting menu, let the chef show his talent and flair. Tasting menu was ~ 80 Euros per head but was worth every penny. Never had so much food. The staff in this restaurant work harder than any other place I... More
