This place is awesome on so many levels. Firstly, its a really cozy bistro, a very typical French one at that. The scents and aromas coming from the kitchen will have your mouth salivating as soon as you sit down. If you need English translating, the friendly wait staff can help you out. We ordered the fish soup, mushroom orzo,... More

The staff was excellent and so was the food. The dishes were very unique and the rice pudding is a must. If you are a carnivore its a must!

We were pleasantly surprised by this little bistro, everything was in French but the server (who I assume was also the owner) spoke great English, and happily translated the menu for us. We went for lunch and had the set menu. The food and service was so great that we went back for dinner a few nights later.

I had my hotel trying to book this restaurant well over a month before. Somehow, I got lucky. They certainly don't need nor cater to tourists. My favorite kind of restaurant. Seated at a table right next to the kitchen. For some not preferable. For us foodies, incredibly exciting to watch this great chef in action. Seven courses, which at least... More

After having read about Chez L'Ami Jean, we were eager to dine there and lucky to get a reservation. First the few downsides--the tables are right on top of each other, so if your neighbors are unfriendly, boring or obnoxious, you are out of luck! Second, I agree with others who said that this is a tourist haven. Most of... More

Highly recommended by knowledgeable friends and Luxe Review. They were right! This place is great! Casual atmosphere, small place, and a real happenning. Open kitchen presided over by Chef Stephane Jego whose intensity in serving his great dishes is obvious, working non-stop like a true perfectionist on every dish. The pate de campagne was delicious, served with great bread, fresh... More

It is a close walk from the Eiffel Tower, but is tucked down a side street, so don't go here if you are looking for a good view. We went for the taster menu - 8 courses - all very french and all very meaty, so don't go here unless thats what you are after. You will not go home... More

incredible lunch menu, we had the surprise chef menu at a very reasonable price and one course was better than the other. We'll be back for sure. very typical and honest atmosphere. The waiters were very friendly and nice but is it necessary for a waitress to show the stomach (short shirt on purpose) and to be super smart with... More

I first visited Chez l'Ami Jean nine years ago on the recommendation of a local resident. It waqs so good then that we returned for dinner again the next night. So, when I returned to Paris a couple of weeks ago I invited my hosts for dinner on Saturday night. We had a table right next to the kitchen so... More

We booked two weeks in advance for a booking for 5 ppl for a Friday night (and confirmed the booking on the day). The food is delicious & creative, the service is attentive & friendly and the atmosphere lively & typically French. All in all a great night and most certainly one of the top food highlights of our trip... More
