We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel the food was really bad and over priced. On the other hand the view of the Eiffel Tower was amazing.
For my wife and I, the most enjoyable aspect of dining out is when we have a view to take in whilst we eat and relax so Chez Francis was an easy choice given it's stunning views of the Eiffel Tower and the 5 minute walk from our hotel. The view is indeed stunning but it's all downhill from there... More
On our first night in Paris, we had dinner a Chez Francis and it was all we hoped for. The service was excellent as well as the food. We had hoped to dine outside, but it was a rainy night and they had a corner table with a view of the Eiffel Tower just for us!! At 10 the Tower... More
My November visit to Chez Francis was my third. This explains everything. Everytime I'm in Paris, Chez Francis is "must". I want to continue in this tradition. I had oysters again and they are absolutely delicious. This time I tried tartare and house Rosé, too. Very tasty and exactly what I wanted. Staff is friendly, however, also really professional. I... We had dinner there beginning of December, my wife and myself. A very bad experience although we are french native speaking. First of all : be aware, check your bill : we were cheated on the bill for an important amount. No excuse, no apologize of the "maitre d'hotel" he was very rude and did not care at all. He... More
As frequent visitors to Paris we were often put off by the mixed (TA) reviews of this well known local brasserie. The November weather, proximity to our hotel and craving for seafood tipped the scales for us. With good intentions ( a clear view at the Eiffel) we were seated at a "junction" which we thought rather busy and asked... More
Great food on nice dishes! Lovely view and ambience. The one thing to improve is to speak better English etc for the serving personel!
First visit last year. Very good with lovely food and friendly service. This time booked in advance from London table for five on Saturday evening. Pushed in small table in corner by kitchen! Food disappointing, steaks tough, vegetables hard, pasta tasteless, crumble stodgy, creme brulee rubbery! Wine: small glasses, Soft Drinks very high priced. Service very perfunctory and dour. Forty... More
Good oyster menu but I didn't get to try. Bread was good, cheese plate was good. Rest of food not so great - not a lot of flavor, not very well presented. Service a bit slow. So disappointing since it was the only crowded place amongst the restaurants close to the theatre.
