Had big expectations for this place and was very quickly turned off when both of our food came out literally 2 minutes after we ordered it. They have food pre made? The food was nothing special either. My wife's chicken was not seasoned very well and was so dry probably because it was sitting under a warmer for a long... More

If you are looking for a real french brasserie, with the real french food like all restaurants used to serve years ago, but if you don't want to spend a lot of money? Run to Bouillon Chartier. It is not fancy with 2 leaves of salad in the plate, but you get what you asked for. Waiters are nice, service... More

Dinner was a family type affair, with people sharing tables of six. Portions are acceptable and prices good- Enjoyed the duck and we had great deserts- Wine was inexpensive!

We weren't even aware of this place but staying nearby and seeing the queues every night we did some investigation and decided to go there. We have children so decided to head there at 7pm to avoid the queues and were seated very promptly. The atmosphere is fabulous and it is all very prompt with the waiters and staff dressed... More

I was here with my wife 2 years ago, and happy with the quality of the food. So on this trip we decided to go back. No queue this time, but we went for a rather late lunch (2 a.m.). Waiters are still a bit hautain, but when you try to make some conversation, they tend to thaw. Food still... More

Having a Frech Menu' without any English word is a choice and we respect this but is a duty for them to describe the ingredients because if there are person with allergies or other problem need help. Waiter are rude, they do not like to explain in English and think that they are making to you a favour. Never had... More

After apprehension towards the notoriously rude service chartier was so much better. The food was traditional French and cooked well-streaks ahead of touristy bistros. The waiter was far from rude and incredibly quick; excellent and novel at calculating the bill. If you are in Paris make the trip!

I travel to Paris almost every year. i have been doing this for ten years and i have loved this place. It used to be almost all locals and the prices were fantastically low. So all the guide books have written about it and the past 2-3 years it has become the place for tourists to go to. Last year... More

Chartier was just as described online. It had the cheapest authentic Parisian food that I have seen in Paris. However, they told us they had no English menus (other reviews have said otherwise). Our waiter was very rude. If you are looking for service, or a waiter that cares about your experience at all, don't go here. If you are... More

I am torn on my review of Bouillon Chartier. On one hand, the restaurant itself is beautiful, in an historic building. It was an interesting atmosphere - couples are seated with other couples, it is VERY fast paced, VERY high noise level, waiters are bordering on rudeness but not quite (at least in our case). It think it helped that... More
