Bouillon Chartier is a old restaurant with history. I tought it has to be an excellent restaurant but I was WRONG! I don't understand the long row, people stand outside to wait a table. You have to share a table with strangers. They only have a French menu and the don't have anything on the menu too. Waiters don't have... More

A friend recommended this restaurant and I spent a long time tracking it down! Unfortunately! I was on my own and as soon as I said table for one, the miserable waitress's attitude got worse! I was ordered to sit on a table with a young couple (from their faces it was evident they didn't want to share their table)... More

Like a time warp, the food is vey cheaply priced and the quality superb. The waiters write the bill on the paper table cloth. The house wine is outstanding.

The long queue, filled with locals and tourists alike filled us with confidence straight away that we had a made a good choice for dinner on our first night in Paris. And we were not disappointed! Everything here was such great value - if you're wanting an intimate brasserie meal, then perhaps this isnt for you but for the range... More

Been going here for years - each time I go to Paris I visit and its always great value, great atmosphere. Have recommended to friends and my teens loved it. Last time I was there, we were late for lunch and saw the waiters sharing out the tips as we were leaving! Go see it - everyone's idea of what... More

I really did! It's unique, historic and very special - I think the only example of this type of restaurant remaining - the others have been turned into expensive restaurants from what I could make out. If you want a predictable, normal, run of the mill dining experience, go to a 'normal' restaurant. If you want to have a new... More

We chanced upon this and were thrilled with our discovery. A former working man's eatery, Chartiers, kept with the traditional interior, serves first class meals, with a flourish of good service and humour. Bills are written on table clothes, meals whipped up in no time. We returned to eat here, being the greatest value for money meal eaten whilst in... More

Not only was the food of a worse standard than bad primary school meals, the staff were unbelievably some of the most rude and inpatient people I have ever had to encounter. All I wanted was to relax after a long day of sight-seeing but I was unpleasantly rushed into everything that in any pleasant restaurant is encouraged to take... More

The food here, French and Parisian classics, is good. From Steak Tartare to Dorade Royal, everything is prepared nicely and tasty. The prices are quite low given the surrounding: about 10-13€ for a main course is really not bad and 4,50€ for half a bottle of wine is also acceptable. When you come early, you can get a table without... More

With a friend decided to check this institute in Paris. We were just in time to avoid the intimidating queue (hang in there when in it, it's worth it :-)). What a fantastic place, its just like entering an other era. Staff is impressive. Friendly, helpful and man, they sure know how to walk around the place with 5 plates... More
