Charlot's Art Deco palace is to be foun d right in the heart of a very lively quarter of Paris. And if Place Clichy reminds you of the seaside, it's entirely thanks to Charlot, reigning supreme for over thirty-five years as the capital's favourite seafood and shellfish restaurant! The authentic Marseille fish soup, bouillabaisse approved by the Marseillais ans with an a la carte twist, is enough to transport you to the seaside.

Great seafood in an elegant restaurant

When we first walked in I thought the place was empty and nearly walked back out. Fortunately we didn't as the food is lovely and all the diners were sat upstairs. When you go into a restaurant that is the King ofShellfish, well, you eat shellfish, meaning oysters Because undoubtly, France has the best, by far. There are also incredible lobster, razors, cocles, etc., etc. Tonight I had the special Belles which are meaty and salty, a dream! I have a small stomach nd I have to be very choosy and... More

Great food and good service! Langoustines and salmon kabobs skewered with shrimp were scrumptious. The place is gorgeously decorated and the view if you are lucky enough to get a table by the window, is amazing! You get to see a little bit of Clichy from it. We had previously told the waitress that we had tickets to see a... More

My girlfriend and I ate here for the first time this weekend and opted for the Plateau de crustaces with some extra seafood as additions. I have eaten seafood platters like this on many occasions and have to say that this was one of the better ones. The seafood is very good - the langoustines and crab were tender and... More

I had found this Restaurant in a guide book and it sounded really good and I very pleased that it served bouillabaisse which I can rarely find although at 81 Euro We thankfully gave it a miss. The starter of artichoke was huge and lovely although hard to go wrong, I ordered a fish soup ( Bourride ) as part... More

I was there reading all the reviews that i read here. Well, this is not a restaurant, this is a joke. The waiters doesn't wanna work at all but the worst thing is that they pretend to sell you raw fish but they just take it form the freeze, the boil it and then they put it on some dirty... More

A beautiful and imposing setting for a real French seafood restaurant. Various different types of oysters, live lobsters and everything else you could want.

The food was good, I took an excellent soup as a starter. The grilled fish could use some sauce (a bit dry), but the rice with it was very good. The seafood plate have more fancy food (like Lobsters) than what you can get in similar restaurants of the area for the same price. The thing that really made the... More

I first ate here decades ago and took my current squeeze here as part of our extended New Year celebrations in Paris, on New Year's Day. Most other restaurants in the area were absolutely packed, but this one wasn't, which I suppose is its own message. It was OK, but not sensational. Oysters were oysters. Our main courses of scallops... More

The restaurant reminds me of a cheesy 70's casino. They are overpriced for undercooked food. Service was mediocre. Spent alot of moneyto walk away hungry.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
