Disastrous Dinner

The worst entrecote we ever have been served in a restaurant. Extremly hard to cut, impossible to chew. The free dessert offered did not compensate the bad experience

From the outside this looks like a nice bistro, and the location and decor is good. However the food was really just so-so. We had Steak Frites and Coquille St. Jacques as mains, which were both really bland and full of oil. The steak was tough and overcooked. The prices were also relatively high for this area. It's not a... More

In Paris and staying in the Marais a week ago we visited Camille twice. We had been once before and we were very impressed then and we were again. It is very French with tables for two side by side with no space. The staff have always been efficient and courteous, also helpful when needed in choosing from the menu.... More

A group of six of us visited today for lunch. Great menu, superb food and brilliant atmosphere. Staff couldn't have been more attentive. Well done Camille, we will definitely be back when in Paris.

We have had three meals here twice for dinner last summer and once for lunch in January 2015 Last June we managed to snag the last table for dinner on a Friday night. The place was packed with tourists and some natives. The young and very cheerful staff flew about taking orders opening wine and delivering food. At this distance... More

There are only a few cafes or places in this area to have lunch which means that most cafes' and bistros are crowded and struggle to provide good food and service. We were on our way to our 2.30 appointment at Picasso's museum when we stopped to have a quick lunch. Despite the chilly day we sat outside on the... More

This restaurant is frequented by both locals and visitors. The staff is charming and comfortable in both French and English for the most part. They offer a set of standard menu items but seldom changes. It is full of French standards such as steak frites, duck, veal, etc. Their duck and veal liver are especially good. It's a nice neighborhood... More

We wanted to have a pre-dinner drink, but obviously we stopped in the wrong place: stroppy service and expensive drinks. We were seated in a small table near the door with freezing drafts coming in, we had to beg to have the drinks list and then we were clearly invited to leave the place as soon as possible. We happily... More

The staff were incredibly rude and insulting, refusing us service for only ordering one meal to share between two. They seated us next to the front door which was extremely cold, with the waiter actually waving his finger in my face when I told him what I wanted to eat. It was unprofessional and quite frankly disgusting service.

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
