Ate here two years ago and came back for the good traditional food of the mountains. Tried their menu offering of 33 euros - pleasant meal. Green lentils with mustard sauce for first; followed by the signature sausage and aligot potatoes; and ended with delicious chocolate mousse. Other meal was... read more

We first visited this restaurant our first trip to Paris from a recommendation of the hotel concierge. Dining in Paris was a very formal experience then and the meal left something to be desired. This trip, we decided to give it another try, as the cusine of Auvergne is quite good, and difficult to find in many restaurants. We were... More

We found this place by accident a few years back and loved our returns trips there. It's been a few years, but we were excited to return. This visit was enough to make us not return. The wait staff was rude and spent no time with us. Even asked him to describe a dish and the response I got was,

I have not been to Ambassade d'Auvergne since 7 years, it is still very good quality for a decent price, it was a businessdinner for 3 persons, wine ( a very good Madiran for under Eur 40), starter, main course and cheese, calvados and all together for 3 people the bill was less than Eur 320, in the middle of... We've eaten here many times over the years, and it's always a delightful experience. The staff is attentive, and the food is excellent. Try the Salers beef or the mousse au chocolat. The aligot is wonderful, too. Marcillac is a good, inexpensive wine from the Auvergne region.

The owner, Didier Desert is a true connoisseur of wine, of food, of people. This delicious regional restaurant is splendid in every way. You feel welcomed, service is perfect, and the cuisine is original and classic at once, fresh ingredients of the season, prepared to perfection. This charming french restaurant is not to be missed. We love it!

An old school atmosphere with traditional French dishes well prepared. Not the trendiest place but decent value for classic French dishes.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the experience. A beautiful old style restaurant, with typical cuisine, a great wine list and perfect service. The owner is very welcoming and has a taste for quality ingredients and beautiful wines. I recommend the lentils salad and off course the Aligot, a typical dish form Auvergne. A must visit in Paris, for a... More
