Old School

An old school atmosphere with traditional French dishes well prepared. Not the trendiest place but decent value for classic French dishes.

We've eaten here many times over the years, and it's always a delightful experience. The staff is attentive, and the food is excellent. Try the Salers beef or the mousse au chocolat. The aligot is wonderful, too. Marcillac is a good, inexpensive wine from the Auvergne region.

The owner, Didier Desert is a true connoisseur of wine, of food, of people. This delicious regional restaurant is splendid in every way. You feel welcomed, service is perfect, and the cuisine is original and classic at once, fresh ingredients of the season, prepared to perfection. This charming french restaurant is not to be missed. We love it!

I was very pleasantly surprised with the experience. A beautiful old style restaurant, with typical cuisine, a great wine list and perfect service. The owner is very welcoming and has a taste for quality ingredients and beautiful wines. I recommend the lentils salad and off course the Aligot, a typical dish form Auvergne. A must visit in Paris, for a... More

We'd been here a decade ago and enjoyed it, decided up return. Beamed ceiling with hanging hams and copper pot fixtures set the scene. Without reservations for lunch, we were seated at a communal table and ended up having delightful conversation with a couple from Prague. Unlike other reviewers, we found service very friendly and the owner's daughter ended up... More

we went on Friday night and sat for three hours, enjoying the terrine and lentils, sausage (with the amazing aligot - mashed potatoes in steroids), the fish special and the cheese plate. Wine was reasonably priced. We had about four staff helping us and each was lovely. The new owner stopped by to check in and tell us stories. The... More

I had the special of 'dorade' (white fish) which was cooked superbly! My partner had the cassoulet which he also thought was very well constructed. Honestly the food was delicious, the service as mentioned by others can be a little brisk but overall this restaurant is a winner, will recommend to our friends

...think twice before ordering the lentils! We trusted our tourist guide again and had dinner in this cozy but pretty elegant restaurant. Inspired by the guide's suggestions and by a table of cheeses near the entrance, we decided our starters: mix of cheeses and lentils salad. Now, we have to say: we read great comments about this lentils salad so... More

Wonderfull place, kindness and courtesy. Excellent food. I tried the Ham from Auvergne, Roast Duck Breast with aligot and Chocolate Mousse...what can I say? Every single dish was an incredible experience of taste and good feelings. Good price. Strictly recommended! Federico from Italy

This restaurant is well within the Creme de la Creme of Paris. Beautiful Auvergne cooking complimentedby friendly if a tad brisk service. And you might want to ask your waitresse about portion size, as they do vary.
