I was in Paris with nine friends, and we needed a place to dine well. I had extensively researched Paris, and this place was high on the list among foodies. We called and made reservations for that evening, and they were kind enough to open up a separate room for nine American tourists. Our server was kind, helpful, and fun.... More

My second time visiting Paris with friends and wasn't expecting much based on my first experience. This restaurant, amongst a few other great things, falafels in Le Marais, Frenchie To Go and Le Marais in general has completely changed my views on Paris and I can't wait to go back. The staff were fun, vibrant and attentive, we had the... More

We were spoken to in English even though we spoke French - which is very rude IMHO. The waiter didn't bother to come by to our table for around 15 minutes, even though we were first to be seated. He was unfriendly and curt. He made a mistake on my drink order and acted annoyed when I asked him to... More

After a bit of an initial glitch in getting settled at our table, we had a lovely experience. I had the duck breast with the cheesy mashed potatoes along with an amazing portion of chocolate mousse for dessert. The food was excellent and I have great memories of the duck breast.

Go for the aligot (mashed potatoes with a ton of cheese) and leave your calorie counting behind. Overall a decent meal. The staff seemed a little distant at first but warmed up as the meal went on. Portions are big and the food tasty. Save room for the chocolate mousse.

We enjoyed a complete meal with cocktails, appetizers (the melon soup and steak tartare were wonderful), dinner and desserts. The food was excellent. The quality of the service made the evening especially nice. The staff tolerated our imperfect French, and never rushed us. This restaurant met all our expectations for a lovely meal in Paris.

This restaurant was only a few doors down from the Hotel Georgette, and proved to be a worthwhile dinner stop. Initially, the staff can seem a little brusque, but they warmed up after a little while. The food is quite good, definitely on the rich side, and reasonably priced. I'm not familiar with Auvergne cuisine, but this seemed authentic. They... More

Second time in this restaurant, last time around it was two years ago. Location, table setting and menu have not dramatically changed, ultimately one comes here mostly for a rich, traditionally Auvergnat menu/cuisine: good fois gras, home made, absolutely recommended ham, it comes in very long, hand cut slices, deliciously mild at the taste, and the lentil salade, with green... We were a party of four and ordered different entrees such as duck and lamb. As usual, each of us tasted what the others had on their plates. Everything was outstanding, of course. We had expected nothing less. What I liked most was the "aligot", which is melted cheese blended into mashed potatoes. Just the way it is served is... More

We just spent 3 lovely weeks in France, and this was the only nasty experience of the whole trip. We had an apartment 2 blocks away, and thought the Ambassade d'Auvergne might be a nearby spot we could dine at several times during our stay. Unfortunately, the headwaiter on the ground floor was rude and unprofessional. He knew one diner... More
