This is a restaurant that makes country cooking the king. Their aligot, mash potato, is divine. Creamy and cheesy. The aligot is brought to the table in the copper pan and beaten and stretched to show it is right. The chocolate mousse is said by my wife to be the absolute best. This is beautiful simple cooking at it's best... More

Don't get me wrong...I liked the setting and the food....but it did not stand out compared to other French restaurants we visited.

We selected this restaurant because of a recommendation from famous author/chef Patricia Wells (Food Lover's Guide to Paris), and the fact that it was open on Sunday night. We were a group of 6 Americans. Previous reviews had stated that the restaurant was mostly populated by Americans and other non-Parisians.........now I understand why. This food was uninspiring and stodgy. The... More

This place is quite famous in Paris, probably because it calls to be the embassy of a very gastronomical region in France, Auvergne. It is also a nice design located in the heart of Paris where you don't have many real good restaurants. You can have three menus at 33 euros which represent a fair deal. If you want to... More

This is a “Bib Gourmande” restaurant. Ever year, Michelin gives out their coveted stars to truly great, and universally expensive restaurants, but they also choose a small number of much more modest places to highlight with their Bib Gormande designation: distinguished food, but in a setting that will never warrant a star, and at a more reasonable price. Restaurants must... More

We wanted to celebrate our last night of our holidays after spending five and a half weeks in Europe. After some research we chose this restaurant reading some great reviews. Fortunately we were not disappointed. We were very lucky to get a table for four as we had not made a booking. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and... More

We arrived as the place was opening without reservations - we had been traveling all day and were keen for a simple, French meal - and were immediately seated and served with verve and humour. My French is pretty good but thanks to these folks I now know the French names for three or four different mushrooms. We had one... More

Meals in France are to be savored, not rushed. So, if your in a hurry, grab a sandwich from a bistro instead. We enjoyed lunch here with friends and lingered for 2-1/2 hours. Since we do not know French, we viewed the menu online in English to help with our selections. The goat cheese appetizer and aligot (cheesy potatoes) and... More

A charming, small restaurant specializing in the cuisine of the Auvergne with a warm, country atmosphere and delicious food. The restaurant has been family owned since it opened in the late '60's and we were welcomed by the owner, who also took our order. I've wanted to eat here since I first spied this place back in the 1990's, and... More
