We had the casual dining experience just to clarify. We ate here our first night in Paris. We walked around for a few blocks reading menus but in this area they were all similar priced and offered similar food options. The restaurant itself has classic Parisean style and looks like a dream at first glance, however after being seated we... More

We enjoyed sitting outside, looking at the Opera and watching the world go by. Cafe de la Paix has been in the same location since 1867 and was a favorite destination during the Belle Epoque. The food was good to excellent for lunch -- great onion soup and a good croque monsieur -- and the service was brisk but very... More

First time there I have le pigeon. The waiter asked how I wanted it cooked, I had no idea that there would be a choice with poultry so I asked what was customary. The waiter said "medium so that the meat is tender, pink and bloody." I took his suggestions and I thought it was the best thing I ever... More

Horrible service, rude staff. Our waiter was polite but the guys "running the show" at the café were rude to him and he kept having to apologize to us because our 2 drinks took 45 minutes (an iced tea and a lemonade). I feel bad for the poor waiter who has to work there but I would never go back... More

One of the best restaurants in Paris. Loved the food and the staff was very nice. Good service. I would recommend going to this one if you are in Paris.

We were staying at the Intercontinental hotel in the same building and had brunch here twice during our visit. It is expensive, but there is an amazing selection of quality food, the dining room is very attractive, the service is attentive and we were not rushed as we enjoyed our meal and lingered over coffee. The buffet would not be... More

You feel truly Parisienne dining at this cafe. It's a good mix of locals and tourists, creating a great ambience. It is a busy cafe with petite French style tables and chairs. On this occasion we were in for lunch, I arrived earlier than our friends. We were seated and got a beverage, the waiter kindly held the other table... More

Want to visit one of the world's most famous cafes is this place in Paris you absolutely must set aside time for a memorable visit! The style is classic late 1800s and it is said that if you sit on the terrace you can see that soon the whole world walking by ... You may just have a glass of... More

This cafe is great. It is situated on the corner overlooking the Paris Opera House. Unfortunately, my mother and I sat outside and there were ALOT of smokers! Yuk! It really is gross when one is trying to eat, but the inside, oh that is beautiful. The food was really good and the portion size is very sizeable. Only thing,... More

Although nice location by the Opera and an "icon" in Paris, you would expect somewhat more than this. Slow service, dull food, over priced. Better for breakfast, coffee or a drink.
