Food quality was average, not outstanding, but certainly solid with a limited selection of wines. Definitely worth checking out.

Friendly staff. Fabulous authentic Parisian interior . Great food . Don't be put off by scruffy street . This is a gem of a classic Parisian brasserie .

the food , the service and the decor. It was not too busy, being lunch time on Tuesday and the service (François in particular) was attentive, efficient and friendly as you find in most French (Parisian?) places. The food was perfectly cooked and in the right amount for our appetite. I have read a number of comments on this site,... More

Me and a friend visited here during our April stay in Paris after finding the restaurant online. The meal was very decently priced for three courses, including a complimentary glass of champagne. The French cuisine food was excellent, and a great French experience. The restaurant had beautiful decor, very elegantly decorated. The only real downfall was that the staff were... More

Getting off the metro at Strasbourg St Denis, it is about 100 metres to the Julien. Look for large stone arch at the entrance to the road. It looks scruffy but really is quite safe. Julien is a typical old style French brasserie. I quite like the bustling style though on Monday night it was noisy as a group of... More

Yes, it is true: this might not be thé place to be for the young & hip Parisians looking for The Latest in (their own) French cuisine, but for us it was perfect. Nothing can beat its ambiance, most friendly waiters and, lbnl, delicious classic brasserie food. We had magret de canard and it was superb. So was kir crémant... More

As we entered Brasserie Julien we were really impressed by the architecture: Art nouveau at its best! We were welcomed very friendly and got a nice table. The menu offers traditional french food at a good variety. We took the three course menu (mainly fish that night) accompanied by a nice bottle of Sancerre. The food was excellent both in... More

We got the prix fixe menu on two separate visits and were very satisfied. Good food, good service, beautiful interior, price fine. Five stars may be a little high, but I could not rate it as low as four stars :-D. Will eat here again when we return to Paris.
