Decent food but not worth the prices and poor service

On the plus side, a lovely if somewhat tired art deco room serving decent food in a neighborhood otherwise populated by kebab places and fast food. On the negative, its somewhat expensive (EUR 32 for two course lunch, EUR 39 for 3 courses) and the service is just horrible. We arrived at noon to an... read more

This place really lived up to the reviews - when you enter they seat you right away and give you a glass of champagne on the house to begin. I had steak tartare, which can be really difficult to get right, but it was absolutely sublime and they catered to British squeamishness by very, very lightly browning the outside, which... More

My wife and I spent last week in Paris and had a wonderful time. This restaurant was our absolute favorite and we liked it so much that we went back a second time later in the week. The food and wine choices were terrific, but the best part of our visit was the terrific service that we received from Anis.... More

This brasserie stays true to the original essence of a French brasserie. It serves traditional French cuisine to working class people in an original art-deco atmosphere created around 150-years ago. The brasserie in not a tourist restaurant. Do not expect everyone to speak English. Do not expect to order an American type cocktail. Do not expect Michelin star presentations. Do... More

We were inspired to eat here after reading a Time Out special report on classic Parisian Brasseries that recommended Julien in its ‘Top Five’, and after checking the reviews on Tripadvisor it only reinforced my decision to try this place out. And it wasn’t a bad choice – just not as good as I’d hoped. For a start, the area... More

We were greeted by Flore who provided fine service on an increasingly busy evening. Wonderful starters including rich beef broth in the onion soup and lovely herbal tomato and cheese salad. Mains were a simple sea bass with herb whipped potato and excellent tasty salmon. Decor was charming.

Julien was a truly magical experience.....excellent food and service coupled with exquisite decor makes for an awesome dining experience. One of the floor staff even took the time to give us a history lesson about Julien's interesting past.

We were taken to what promised to be a traditional French restaurant and we were not disappointed in Restaurant Julien at St Denis. It was as if we were back in the 1920's, the decor, the furniture and the waiters did their best to take you back there. The food was excellent, the wine just as good and then the... More

This Art Nouveau gem is a rather eclectic neighborhood. Hidden on a side street, it has a stunning interior. Service is friendle, efficient and knowledgeable. The dishes are well prepared with attention to detail. The standout dessert is crepe Suzette which is prepared nearby so you can see the flambé when the Grand Marnier is added. Highly recommended.

This was a restaurant recommended by my parents, but one that fell within our price bracket! The street didn't suggest it would be as nice as it was - a bit of a hidden gem! The interior decoration was great! We went quite early, being Brits, but it filled up very quickly and it was a good thing we'd booked.... More
