Beautiful place, mediocre food and service

We stumbled into this place around 8:00 one evening after walking around and not finding a restaurant we were looking for. We were wet, cold and poorly dressed and it was a wet, cold nasty April night just before Easter. Somehow they had room for us, and squeezed us into a banquette. We didn't know... read more

We recently had a lovely 5 day trip to Paris. Lovely hotel, great sights and beautiful restaurants. Until we visited this place. We love the Art Nouveau period/movement so we were looking forward to visiting. Welcome - terrible. We ate early and it was as if the staff couldn't have cared less if we were there or not. Service -... More

I would say, if you haven't booked a table, get there as soon as it opens. It gets full very quickly. Went there for an anniversary meal with my wife. Glad we got there early. By the time we finished our starters, the place was full with a good atmosphere coming from everyone. We had the 3 course menu option,... More

The art nouveaux decoration is lovely if a little rough around the edges We'd wanted something in a Classic French style .... We got it at Julian staff are extremely friendly ,knowledgable and helped to create the right balance between service with style and a little fun We had the standard menu so starters main desert They have a daily... Glorious Art Nouveau restaurant in a busy part of Paris. Ate there first time over 30 years ago. Changed very little, still reliable, if not exciting food. The Art Nouveau decor and the service makes it special. The head waiter at our lunch yesterday was terrific. The are is now a bit down at heel, but is safe. Metro and... More

Fantastic decor from which you get a sense of what life must have been like in Paris in the early 20th century http://www.julienparis.com/en/

We visited Julien while staying in Paris for my daughter's birthday. The standard of the food and service is excellent. We were given a very warm welcome and looked after very well indeed both by the staff and particularly the maitre d'. He gave and other guests a lot of personal attention, whilst clearly being aware of everything else going... More

A nice evening with good service and a great meal. Everything was delicious and truly excellent French cuisine delight. Excellent service combined with excellent cuisine was the greatest gift birthday.

I have eaten here multiple times. The food is average Brasserie/Bistrot food but the restaurant is beautiful. The place is authentic Art Nouveau with a spectacular glass ceiling and wonderful wall designs. It is going back in history and a wonderful experience

The restaurant is a bit dated now, needs a facelift. Everything looks a bit old and yellowed with age, but the charm is still there. Service as expected; food still very good. Lots of French still (ie: not invaded by the Japanese = good sign). Portions still generous but don't expect good wine.
