Variety of choice

A large group of us went there, both old and young for lunch. Everybody had his/her choice of food which was nicely prepared. I had the snail and fish which were delicious. There is a kid's menu too. A stereotypical French experience. Some of the food can be very good. The service is lacking. However, the attempted scams were annoying. I ordered a med rare chateubriand ... and received an extremely small, extremely over-cooked end piece. When I told the waiter it was over cooked he literally threw the plate of fries and spilled the hollandaise in his... More

Took my mother to Paris for Mother's Day and this was our special Mother's Day meal. The service was excellent from the time we walked in to the door to the time we left. We both got the duck and both of us are a little weary about duck as it can either be really good or really bad...well I... More

Bofinger has been going for over 100 years and I suspect that there is little I can say that hasn't already been said before. We went for my 60th birthday celebration and had a very lovely night. Great food, expertly served in a fantastic setting - what more can you want! The Menu Prestige for 59 Euros which is 3... More

This used to be a lovely restaurant many years ago, but my last meal there was mediocre at best. When the waiter came around to ask how was the meal, I had the temerity to express my disappointment with my unpleasantly dry en croute fish. The waiter sent over a manager, whose response was to try to convince me that... More

Stopped here for lunch by myself, since in Paris on business. My partner and I went here almost 10 years ago. We loved it then, and I still love it now. The service was extemely nice and prompt, and very good at my request not to rush through the wine, then and appetizer then the main meal, which was sea... More

This is an amazing place with beautiful stained glass by Eiffel. The food is delicious and very traditional brasserie. We love the steaks and seafood. Shared the seafood platter with a friend. Love the French fries, the crab appetizer, the egg appetizer, the steak. Totally delicious. It can be challenging to get a reservation. Is a good place for a... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
