A restaurant with history

This is a restaurant with a long history which you see in the location and menu. It's typical French cuisine with real French service. We had some nice dishes and The service was also really nice and friendly. It is a bit pricy though.

Me and my boyfriend booked a table at the restaurant after reading about it in a travel magazine. It did not disappoint. Amazing French Onion Soup and Crap starters. Calf's liver for main and amazing creme brulee and ice cream to finish. The wine was outstanding and service second to none. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect. We... More

In my opinion, this is in the top restaurants bracket in Paris. The restaurant looks great, the staff are busy and attentive. The wine list is extensive, the meals are excellent. I had the escargot Which were great and then eye fillet, which was excellent. This is not a budget restaurant, it's a proper restaurant that charges accordingly. It opens... More

I went on Jan.29th to celebrate the birthday of my daughter and one week before we asked for a cake with candles. Well the cake was not available and the two so called managers simply said that nobody was aware, without apologies. Later when at home I checked if the cake had been really ordered and I called the restaurant... More

Wonderful and typical grand brasserie, very romantic. Order the choucroute to share and a glass of champagne to start. It is actually a very reasonable meal. We will return on our next trip to Paris and perhaps will indulge on seafood next time.

We go every November to celebrate our wedding anniversary and have done so since 2005. Bofinger is a beautiful place to eat and if you can, request a table under the colossal Tiffany style dome. The menu caters for all tastes, palattes and wallets. Personally, I eat little during the day so that I can manage their piéce de resistance:... More

Haven't been there for years but still fabulous. A real Parisian brasserie with a wonderful stained glass roof. The house speciality is Sauerkraut but there is also a good fixed price menu plus a la carte. The wine is good as is the service and the attention to detail. It is not cheap but well worth the price. You are... More

The other reviews give a pretty realistic picture of this traditional Alsatian brasserie. The interior design is beautiful, very classy, a bit like a time warp. Waiters in bold ties, can't get any more French than that. The food is good, nothing extraordinary in terms of dishes and quality, but considering the price very good value for money. We had... The meal here was amazing. Great value for money. In my opinion they offer a great French experience. From the service to the food, it was just exactly what we expected. Divine wine list. Mouth watering oysters. Mesmerising creme brulee.

My husband and I booked our Christmas Eve dinner months in advance after extensive research. We were very disappointed in Brasserie Bofinger. We were seated upstairs, away from the beautiful stained glass atrium. They should not seat people up there on Christmas Eve or Christmas. It felt like we were dining in a barn. No ambiance at all. Our waiter... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
