The blind wine tasting makes this one special

Went here with my wife after reading some recommendations and being intrigued by the concept of the blind wine tasting to go with the meal. We had the "Discovery Menu" (4 courses with 3 wines) which was the "basic" choice of the three available dinner menus. The food was solid - nothing overly... read more

I'm surprised by the number of excellent reviews for this restaurant. I though it was average only. The food is like so much that you find in Paris - unadventurous, samey. It was fine, no more. I thought the recommended wines were also dull, and why always French wines, when the rest of the works has so much (better) to... More

He's not kidding. This is an excellent foodie quality restaurant with excellent service and an outstanding wine list. But, try the wine from the owner's own vinyard!

We first visited this restaurant 18 years ago, and we were eager to return (they were not open on other occasions when we were in Paris). Little did we know that the owner and sommelier, Philippe Faure-Brac, was celebrating the 30th anniversary of his first sommelier award on the the night we reserved! So we arrived to a party! We... I've visited this bistro twice this year and had delicious meals both times. Its no bargain but that seems par for the course in downtown Paris. Its not near any major tourist spot and that seems to support the neighbourhood feel of the restaurant - the majority of the diners were French-speakers on my recent visit, including a family with... Back again in this very nice place, one of my favourite place for business lunches in Paris. This time for an evening meal with friends. The new menu is very clear, and of course wine choice is great. And if you don't know what to choose, staff is very nice and helpful. In summary, a excellent place for lunch and... More

Selected the lunch menu and two glasses of wine at 44€. Picked prowls and starfish. The plate looked really great but I was totally disappointed by the pack of flavor on the food. The best part was the pear tart served on a "sketch" of chocolate and the two glasses of wine (I guess wine is their strength). Service was... More

This small restaurant it is a peace of art, own and operated by Philippe Faure - Brac, winner of the price of better sommelier of the world in 1992, and an amazing sponsor. The food was excellent consider by the 5 that where in the table.

We had a 3 course dinner with beautifully matched wine, served by Mona who was attentive and friendly. We learnt a lot and were wowed by her wine expertise. Food was absolutely delicious, and the kitchen readily accommodated one diner's dietary requirements. Philippe Faure-Brac even came out to greet us in person at the end of our meal. A very... More
