A fine venue for wine lovers

This restaurant, headed by 1992 World Sommelier Champion Philippe Faure-Brac doesn't disappoint. The venue is nice and understated. The seasonal menu changes monthly with additional daily options. The dishes are very well-made, although we found they lacked seasoning (easily remedied). The wine... read more

This is a wine oriented (as the name would suggest) restaurant with very enjoyable bistrot cuisine and a very good selection of regional wines of France. We asked the Sommelier to make selections for us and bring the wines blind in decanters so that we might challenge our pallets and he was most accommodation and actually enjoyed the game. The... The owner here was once voted the worlds best sommelier apparently. I only drink white wine or rose and I'm normally fussy. He pushed my boundaries and opened my palette to so much more. Truly excellent wines. On a separate visit I had a croque Monsieur and have to say it was excellent Well worth a visit

We ate in the private dining room which is around the back of the main restaurant, down a very cute alley way. We had a lovely experience with different wines for each course, most of which were French and all of which were amazing. We had some really nice food to accompany the meal. I had the cod appetiser, the... More

It was my 55th birthday and we found this wonderful place by chance. We didn't expect what we found. The owner was the best sommelier of the World years ago. Now, in his restaurant, he offers excellent food, extraordinary wines, perfect service, very nice and cozy atmosphere. If I ever come back to Paris, I will come back to this... More

Recommended by our travel guide (Lonely planet), we had booked in advance. From the outside, this did not look to charming, but during the evening we really began to like this place. As the concept here was good knowledge of wine, we chose the surprise menu for both food and wine. The waiter asked for allergies and preferences, and then... More

We went for the 5 courses with 4 paired wines menu. All of the food was very good (duck breast with violet mustard particularly so) but the real stars were the wines. The wine pairings were done as blind tastings and the restaurant had deliberately chosen wines from unusual locations or that were not typical of their location to trick... More
