This is a great little restaurant, not far from Place d'Italie, cosy and charming, and serving some great food. Unlike the case in some other reviews, we found the service on the night we visited to be quite friendly and once you engaged and talked with the ladies, they were quite cheery too! Truly authentic French cuisine with a great atmosphere. The menu is tried and proven and has been served to local Parisiens for over 80 years. All dishes chosen were fantastic including; scallops with mushrooms, Duck Fais Gras, Beef Steak, Cheese with fig confit, and white cheese cake with milk chocolate sauce. A hidden gem that is well known by locals... More

The Escalope of Foie Gras excellent, the Chipirones also good, we took a small bottle of Madiran, tanic and good wine, fromage de brebis basque excellent, gat to basque also good, we sow that was prepear meson. Now the only problem was the service, the lady who served us was cold, not nice and not smiling :-(

We arrived without reservations, early -- and a good thing too. We were seated next to the only others there -- a Finnish couple. They brought us complimentary sangria to tide us over until they were ready to serve. Within a few minutes the place filled up! Good menu. We chose Lotte (monkfish) and squid -- both good, served with... More

This restaurant is located in front of a park in a rather remote part of Paris. It gives you the feeling ot being somerwhere else. Very nice feeling. I spent my youth in Pays Basque (Bayonne, Biarritz) and the food really reminded me those nice years. The "chipirons a l'encre a la basquaises" were like my mother used to cook... More

We came by this place and my friend had a cane, we entered the place, the lady was reading a newspaper, she did not even bother welcoming us, we were obviously not welcomed. But my friend being tired, we asked for a table and were shown a table where it was impossible for my friend to sit, so we left.... More

Name of the restaurant (and of little attached hotel),+ name of the street- are rather difficult to repeat and spell but- must be remembered. Because this is THE Place to return to. At this welcoming and rather intimate place with smiling waiters and comfortable seats- one can feel happy just from reading the menu and much more so, after the... More

Recommended by a friend, the Auberge provided one of the best meals we enjoyed in Paris and at a modest price. The lunch menu for 21 euros offers a choice of an entrees and plat or a plat and dessert. My wife and I ate lunch here five years ago and we very pleased. In fact, I remembered the regional... More

A few days ago I had a group meal in this lovely restaurant which is really well decorated and has helpful friendly staff. The menu had plenty of choice and the waitress talked us through the different options available. I had a starter with a delicate goat cheese and this was so different to how I have had it before.... The food is good and (at least for me), quite original, with a nice variety of meat- or fish-based specialties from the Basque Region, concluding with great desserts. The service was outstanding, which is not this common in Paris. Good for groups too as the restaurant has a couple of private dining rooms upstairs. Off the beaten path but easily... More
