Nice find a but further down the Ile

Food was excellent from start to finish: we had the artichaut salade, beef bougnignon, canard, and creme brûlée. Everything tasted excellent and ended up very filling. In hindsight, was quite good value - 43 euro for one appetizer, two plats, and one desert. Service was decent but not great... read more

Authentic French cusine served with a smile. Adults are bound to be happy with the diverse menu and affordable wine. We had the delicious duck and pork in a cheese sauce. Even better, our kids ordered adventurously and were rewarded with food they really loved. Great cosy ambience too. It's also great value despite the popular area. We've booked to... More

My wife and I have been to this restaurant 4 times over the past 8 years. We have loved it every time, and it is our favourite restaurant in Paris. Most recently, we had a lovely lunch for great value (45 EUR for three courses for both of us with wine). The salmon tartar is amazing. Make sure you book,... More

The food was prepared well and the presentation was also great. The waitress was very patient with our small amount of French we spoke and she was polite to insure we got exactly wanted. We will be coming back for sure.

Auberge de la Reine Blanche, in Il Saint-Louis, is tucked away down the far end of the main street on this island in the Seine behind Notre Dame. This little restaurant is warm and cosy, and serves delicious food and local wine. My friend Zot Simon and his wife Tina (who were staying in an apartment around the corner) discovered... More

Discovered this restaurant by chance, walking down some back streets. Very traditional French food, delicious and very fresh. Made a nice change to get vegetables with my dinner! Very friendly waitress and chef. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Outstanding.... the best meal I had in Paris! In a city where it is so easy to pay top dollar and be dissapointed this place made up for its pretend authentic tourest area resturaunts. It is located on a beautiful side street close to Notre Dame Church & is lovely walk from the closest Metro. It is a small resturant... More

What a great find near Notre Dame, thanks to a suggestion from Rick Steeves. We had a delicious 3 course meal, finished off with one of the best creme brûlées I've ever had. It's tight quarters, but we were lucky to have wonderful company beside us (thanks Jim and Bill), to pass the time while waiting for our dishes. Great... More

We ate here on our last night in Paris. The relaxed pace and ambiance was exactly right for our mood. My husband started with the onion soup, which he rated as the best he had tried in Paris. I had a salad with warm chevre on toast and lots of delicious lardons on a bed of fresh greens. We had... More

We went at a glowing recommendation from a friend. It took a terrifically long time to get served and service overall was very spotty. Almost an hour was waited to get a piece of cake for my husband's birthday and a check. Some of our food was very good. And some was average. I love the little island and the... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
