Great meal but eccentric service

I have been coming here when ever I am in Paris after I discovered it fifteen years ago, so I wanted to introduce my children (18,28 & 32) to it. Forget online booking - full. A quick call got us a table and you do need to book in busy times. Interesting French menu. The waitress did not understand... read more

We had very good dinner at this restaurant. Prices were really cheap. Food was great. And the restaurant is so beautyful and romantic, one has to see it!

Late night Saturday dinner, we easily got a table for 2. The escargot were very good. The cuts of meat were really disappointing, I couldn't identify my cut of beef in my meal. One piece was fatty and cooked perfectly, the other was tough and gamey. The sauces were tasty and the ambiance was very nice. The prices are very... More

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel after our first choice was closed. So we had an expectation going in, but still it was just ok. I DID love the selection of aperitifs here and I had a really great Absinthe after the meal (with fire and sugar if that means anything to you) but I... More

We had a lovely meal here. My baked camembert starter was absolutely delicious! The baked oysters were also excellent. Both main courses we had were delicious and all courses were very well presented. The only disappointment was by creme brulee which wasn't 'bruleed' enough. However, the other desert, strawberry croquant was awesome! We'd definitely recommend this restaurant!

We enjoyed a lovely meal here, just a few steps from our hotel on L'Isle Saint Louis. Terrific menu and tempting wines. Luckily, our hotel was so close!

We went here on our last night in Paris and the food was good but there was only one server and she was overwhelmed so everything was very slow....slower than normal for Paris!

Staying on Ile de St. Louis, my wife asked if we could eat at L'Orangerie (recommended by Rick Steeves) for our last night in Paris. Fortunately we could not get a last minute reservation there and ended up booking a table for two for 7:30 seating at Auberge de la Reine Blanche right next door. Very small, cozy restaurant. One... Our family enjoyed a great meal here in mid June. We were among the first in the door just past 6:30 (only Americans eat so early in France!). The boeuf bourguignon was just perfect. Kids enjoyed their meal from the kids' menu. Delicious desserts. One waitress that night who handled a full dining room with grace and good cheer. Just... More

Cute little restaurant. We tried classic french dishes and they were quite good except the chicken in coq au vin was a bit overcooked/dry.

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
