The cuisine is very creative and excellent. The way to mix some calamri with pork and reinvented piperade is amazingly good; the Cassoulet is fantastic. there two things which deserve some improvement: a/ there is no Valet and in this section of Paris, this may become a serious problem if you go by car (best is to park at Gare... My son and I enjoyed a spectacular meal at Au Trou Gascon. From the warm greeting at the door to our final farewell, everything was just perfect. The neutral hues of the dining room provided a soothing setting for our meal. We both began with asparagus, which was perfectly cooked and served with a delicate emulsion. My main course, cassoulet,... More

This is a great little neighbor restaurant that has a nice ambiance , a combination of classic and modern art and neutral colored walls that work the space in a lovely fashion. Unlike others, I have always had top rate friendly service and I am sure it is not because 'Je parle francais comme une parisienne' Non…everyone seems to be... More

I know Au Trou Gascon since many years and go regularly for lunch when I get back my car from Autotrain at Gare Bercy :-) So I know it mostly from lunch, which is an excellent offer, but have been also for dinner which is still a good offer, knowing prices in Paris. I feel very well served in this... More

We wanted to take friends to a place they'd never been before and, as it happened, we selected a restaurant we'd, also, never been to before. Au Trou Gascon turned out to be a perfect selection for all of us. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, which is Basque-based, and the wine list is extensive and very reasonably-priced. The service is... I agree with several others here. The fabled, and not cheap, cassoulet was average. The decor comfortable but bare-bones. And we must have had the same silly young serveur as others --- when he brought the cheese tray or cart, I said (in French) "so what do we have here" expecting a description of the specific varieties. He said, "It... More

This was one of the best restaurants in the 12 arr. I could not belive this little gem was right around the corner from our hotel. The meal was delicious and the wait staff was great. Def would go back if in the area again.

We enjoyed the food but the ambience of the restaurant could have been better.Restaurant average decor and our young waiter not very welcoming,I think he was efficient without warmth ! I have dined at better restaurants in Paris without a Michelin star.

At first we were disappointed. We came in, were offered a table, and set down. We waited for 10 minutes, than an angry young waitor came and without saying "hello" he asked if we had a reservation. We told him we did and he left. We kept on waiting. THe place was not full (about 30% of tables were occupied)/.... More
