Special occasion dinner - historic dining room

Beautiful and historic interior sets a romantic mood, almost makes you feel like you're in someone's dining room instead of a restaurant. Attentive service. Food was good but not as good as I've had in other restaurants of similar caliber. Setting and ambience compensates for that.

Delicious restaurant worth 1 michelin star (which i'm sure they will get soon) in in of the most beautiful setting in Paris. This is an 18th century building with historical decor. Very romantic place.

Good, creative fine dining with excellent service. I have been here twice in the last 5 months and in bothe cases we were offered an interesting menu, countered excellent service and a good wine list.

Spent two weeks in Lyon and Paris (including Paul Bocuse in Lyon and Chez Josephine DuMont in Paris) and this dinner was the best, by far! Service was above and beyond and French-Asian fusion cuisine was incredible. Only suggestion is that they need more servers. Hate to give this review because I would like to keep 1728 as a secret... We booked this restaurant as it was a special occasion. We arrived at 8:45 to find that we were the only diners and received very attentive service which continued even after the restaurant had become busier. The food was excellent as was the wine selection. We spent approximately £160 on a 2 course, a 3 course meal and a bottle... More

We discovered this restaurant by finding our hotel on trip advisor and then using the Restaurants Nearby tool on the map inset. Thanks, Trip Advisor, for building that tool! This restaurant was a pure delight. As others have written, it has a classic, old world, ambiance and is a true feast for the eyes, having been a residence of General... More

1728 is not an easy place to review. It has a unique setting. When we were there, only 3 rooms were open, so it was much smaller than what I had envisaged, after looking at the website. But I have never eaten in anything near similar surroundings, so I was still happy. A bit squeaky at first when the servers... More

Terrible food, frenetic service, extremely expensive ! Go round the world to the best restaurants and I can genuinely say this has been one of our most disappointing experiences, only redeeming feature is the exquisite building.

Our local Parisian brother-in-law recommended this treasure to us, we all loved what we had off of the set lunch menu. It was actually nice to not have too much to choose from and a treat to try things I may not have picked myself. Everything was amazingly flavorful with beautiful presentation. I recommended 1728 to my parents who will... More
