Had a large group (12) and experienced a fantastic evening. Great service, leisurely paced meal in a classic "old" France setting. Extensive wine selection and classic cuisine. Small rooms with tapestry, wooden parquet and queen Anne chairs.

I was invited here to lunch by a local friend and I didn't think to research ahead. I felt immediately under-dressed though I was not sloppy but service staff were very formal in their coats, jackets and tie. Upon entry I was greeted by a restaurant hostess who looked like a socialite with her immaculate appearance. Nonetheless in spite of... More

My wife and I visited Paris for her 40th Birthday celebration. Neither of us had been to Paris before so research was based on Trip Adviser reviews. The pressure was on, and this meal needed to go well. I had been anxious after reading the bad reviews, even booking an alternative 'safe choice'. We'd had a great day and decided... More

Unfortunately we were unlucky with our dinner at 1728. The Restaurant atmosphere is lovely. The Rooms, the decoration and the servants make the Restaurant very appealing. We ordered the menue which started with a cold soup and a vegetable tartare with a taglierini topping. The soup was without any taste, no salt, no seasoning. The vegetable tartare was ok- average... We visited this restaurant as we were celebrating our recent engagement & wanted somewhere special to mark the occasion. The restaurant did not fail to disappoint. We had a lovely window seat. The staff were very helpful & attentive. The food lived up to our expectations we had lobster and crab to start, Angus beef and rack of lamb and... More

1728 is a series of rooms replete with tapestries on wood-panelled walls, rococo and trompe l'oeil ceilings, chandaliers, well-spaced tables and well-upholstered chairs, all overlooking a beautiful Parisian courtyard. Given the area, there are a lot of tourists - which means too many mobile phones and photographs/flashes. Service is generally friendly - and certainly efficient. As for the food, it... More

We booked the Pompadour Salon for a company sponsored dinner for about 30 guests. The setting is very beautiful with a lot of antiques, candlelight, paintings and tapestries. The staff were helpful and the food fine without being spectacular as the rooms. It is a perfect romantic atmosphere.

If you want to have a romantic dinner, this is a good place. The restaurant has different rooms, huge ceilings and the food is fantastic as well as the service. The 1728 Le Viognier is amazing.

It was recommended to us by a friend as a good place for lunch, dinner or just dessert to feel the atmosphere of stylish Parisian spirit. We have decided for the latter and were not disappointed. Both classic interior and music took us far away from crowded street. Staff was friendly in a quiet but competent way. Desserts looked nicely... More

On a scale of 10, I would rate this 7-8. Location good, interiors very good (in fact, maybe great), service quite OK, but food 7-8. This grand space (you can look up the history on its website) is tastefully decorated. We are told the owner's wife is Asian, hence the fusion-ish menu -- which is somewhat regrettable. After decades of... More
