Italian Oasis in Marais

An Italian oasis in the heart of the Marais. Place lives up to the presentation. Maybe not everything was perfect, but we enjoyed a nice, warm extended lunch with family. Food is more than correct, atmosphere exactly what it should be. Sure value, reservation ahead advisable.

This little restaurant had great food. Word of advice - you should book. We went on a Monday night and the place was full so to avoid waiting I recommend you book a table in advance. The creme brûlée was delicious

We walked by on our way to the Picasso museum, and stopped by after our visit. Wonderful food, the Rigatoni special, the ravioli with mushrooms and truffle, and the seafood Risotto were all terrific and huge lunch portions. The starter, an artichoke brasole with Parmesan was to die for. And a bottle of lovely Italian wine to boot. For dessert,... More

We'd seen reports that the service was a bit iffy but we found the waitress charming as were all the staff. Starters were large but a reasonable choice of classics. Neither of us could finish our main courses. Not because there was anything wrong with them, on the contrary they tasted great but after the large starter phew!

We came across this place while searching for somewhere to eat on a winter's evening. It was a delightful surprise. A very friendly atmosphere and excellent food. For starters we had dish of mixed cold meats and a beef carpaccio. To follow, a linguini vongole and a cannelloni with ricotta and spinach. For dessert, a tiramisu and a panacotta with... More

We loved this place so much, we went twice during our two-week trip. This would be a great place for a date night OR a family dinner. The first time, we had no reservations yet they found room for us on a busy night-- and we are a family with three small children. The atmosphere is romantic and dreamy; the... More

Our party of four visited this restaurant just after Christmas on a Monday evening. The restaurant, being as small as it is, was maxed out, but we only had to wait about ten minutes for a table and we didn't have reservations, so that was nice. The staff was very helpful, but beware that the online menu doesn't seem to... More

Great authentic Italian food at reasonable prices. And very friendly service from all the waiters. During a 4 day trip, this was by far the best meal we had.

Loved this so much I went there twice. Clientele was a nice mix of locals and tourists and the staff seem to have no problem catering to both equally well. Food was incredible. My wife and I needed a break from the rich and incredible French food and this was perfect!

After a week of mostly eating traditional french food we decided to take a break and ate at the Petit Italien, which was close to our hotel. We are very glad we did. First, the service was really lovely and attentive. The place is very cozy. We didn't have a reservation but they accomodated us on a busy Saturday night.... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
