We booked this restaurant because it wasn't too far from our rental and we were so glad we did. The atmosphere was just right, and the staff extremely helpful with the menu, since none of us spoke French. The food was amazing! The shrimp soup was fantastic! I would have been happy with just that but then the steak with... More

We chose Le Chemise as it was an option near our hotel, Le Mareuil, that had received some great TripAdvisor reviews. I can only add to what others have said. The food and service were great, and it was good value for a Parisian restaurant. It was not a touristy spot as several locals were dining there as well. If... More

This is a cosy small French restaurant near Republique. We booked a table in advance and as there was not many seats in the restaurant I would recommend that you do so. The service was good, and even if the menu was in French our waiter spoke English and explained the menu for us in English. The food we got... More

We both had the wonderful Chateaubriand which came with a fabulous Shallot sauce, which I am going to try and replicate at home!! A very friendly service, we enjoyed our meals there very much.

The owner will greet you at the door and make you feel at home immediately. English is comfortably spoken. The food is fantastic. The menu is limited, but everything is excellent. The p[rice is reasonable for excellent food. The service is on par with the best anywhere.

We made reservations in advance and were warmly welcomed when we arrived. We sat at a cozy booth - the atmoshere was trendy yet warm and inviting. Great wine list and a variety of gourmet dishes. I had filet with a bernaise sauce that was incredibly tender and flavorful. The service was friendly and relaxed (in a good way) This... More

Le Chemise is located almost directly across Rue de Malt from where my wife & I were staying at Hotel Le Mareuil for seven nights. When we walked past the restaurant on Friday and Saturday evenings, it was packed (always a good sign), so we read some recent reviews here on TripAdviser, and then asked the hotel to make a... More

My husband and I were in the mood for a French dinner, so he looked up reviews for good restaurants around our hotel. This one had the best reviews and happened to be right across the street. We walked in and the man who seated us and served us couldn't have been more attentive and helpful. The menu was in... More
