We ate a great meal... More

We found this tiny cafe while staying in Le Marais for a couple of days. Despite our very limited French, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Just outside the St Paul metro station it was perfect for a coffee and croissant breakfast before a day off sightseeing. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed an unexpectedly good meal at L E du N. Arrived for a late lunch on my own and was very warmly welcomed. The restaurant was busy with many regulars and locals. Had excellent hamburger with blue cheese, great accompanying potatoes and a nice side salad. It seemed everyone else was drinking and merry and the atmosphere was contagious. There... More

After visiting a photo expo at the nearby "Maison Européenne de la Photographie" we found this nice place in front of the Saint Paul metro station. It was 3 and a half PM, and it serves at any time. Friendly servers, (maybe a little overspeed), fresh and tasty food at a fair price (for central Paris). Noteceably frequented by both... More

We visited here regularly for our morning coffee and on our last day in Paris decided to try out the lunch menu. The plat du jour was a beautiful veal dish. The food was fresh and a large serving. We wanted to try the desserts but we just couldn't fit it in. The hamburger that my partner had was huge... More

Asked for suggestions from BNP bank across street for lunch. Wonderful spot for locals. Had cheese ham omelet - champagne meal. Reasonable price. Excellent chocolate lava cake. All fresh and friendly. Great staff!

On my own and second day in Paris, with a reputation for rude and expensive service, which I did unfortunately experience here and there, I chose wisely with this characterful and strategically placed cafe. I don't just mean the building and its fittings had character. The waiter who served me both food and drink, champagne, coffee and a croissant, was... More

We were in Paris for four nights and ate at l'elephant du Nile on the second. The staff were attentive and helpful and patient with our rather halting French. We were served promptly and cheerfully and both food and wine were excellent. Prices are very reasonable. We were so impressed that we went back the next evening. Both the waitress... More

The waiters and waitresses are always real people, hard working, but you know they have the little thing on the top of being professionals, they are just usually nice. Apart from the atmosphere, the food is made from fresh ingredients, always, and the cook is great, a woman. Usually traditional familial French meals. The place is well frequented, you will... More

The atmosphere is this place is amazing, very friendly staff, we only went in for one drink after eating elsewhere, and ended up staying in there until it closed which was fairly late. For paris this was a fairly cheap place to drink with good offers. We saw other people eating and the food looked and smelt good, but had... More
