Was our 2nd option, but so glad it became our 1st

A colleague and I were in this neighborhood and could not get into our first option, but Trip Advisor reviews sent us here as the next try. This restaurant is amazing, truly. We went to this little restaurant for dinner after finding it on Trip Advisor. The place is small, casual with friendly staff with 2 of which speak English. Being a small restaurant the menu is not huge but has a good variety to choose from. We had the duck breast and it was cooked to perfection with a nice sauce... More

We are travelling and made a reservation online. Got a confirmation and showed up and there was no table. No offer to return later or another night. That is poor customer service.

La Balancoire is a charming small restaurant in Monmartre. The atmosphere is great and the service was very good as well. We had a 3 course meal from the small and carefully set together menu. The menu is small and the expectations of all food being good was very high. The starter and the dessert were good, but unfortunatly the... More

On our visit to Sacre Coeur, we found this place..the location is a little offbeat compared to the bustling restaurants on the Main Street..but the place has authentic charm and the host explained everything on the menu with so much interest that everything sounded delicious! And the food turned out to be great! Must go!

Me and my sister visited here (27/04/15) and we were not disappointed. Food, service and wine were all great. Did not disappoint.

We were looking around for a good place to eat after visiting Montmarte and decided to try this place. It is a tiny restaurant with maybe about 7 tables. Very cosy and with lots of cute old things - there was a 70s book behind us called "how to play squash the Australian way" or something like that. They also... More

We found this VERY little restaurant during a trip to Paris almost two years ago and loved it then. We were prepared to be disappointed when we tried it again, but it lived up to its reputation. My shared the foie gras as an entrée, as well as their sampler (menu indecis), then she had a small salade gesier for... More

This is a busy and cosy little restaurant in Montmartre and I can only echo everyone's good reviews. The owner and his staff could not do enough to help us and advise- explaining the menu in English to me and in French to my friend (who was brushing up her school French!). We both had three courses (Onglet Boeuf main... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
