Hidden gem in Montmartre

You should be visiting Montmartre anyways, but if you need a reason, go for La Balancoire. The owners are present as hosts, bartenders, and servers. These guys care about their craft and really want their patrons to have a great experience. We went on a quiet weekday evening, and were welcomed... read more

I have visited this restaurant in the past and loved it so wanted to return on my recent visit to Paris. I saw that they had online booking on their website so used this to book a table a week ahead. I received two confirmation emails, including one on the day of the reservation. Sadly, when we turned up, there... More

Dear Nina, I'm deeply sorry about your online booking that was not honored. As you may understand, we try our best to communicate to each other reservations that comes from the internet (we receive them through mail, and not all the staff has smartphone to access them). Sometimes, it happens every two months that a booking was not correctly pointed... More

We went here for our first meal in Paris and were not disappointed. The service was outstanding throughout; attentive and fun. The atmosphere was perfect- live jazz playing in the background and a local buzz in what was a pretty small restaurant. The food was deliciously cooked.. we had the pumpkin soup for starters and the roast chicken and beef... More

Located just around the corner from Moulin Rouge we had a fantastic time in this restaurant. It's small but has a great atmosphere. The food was wonderful, good value and service was friendly & knowledgeable.

The hotel recommended this restaurant and helped us book a table. If you didn't know about it you'd walk past, but you'd be the poorer for it. Had a lovely meal with superb food and service and got a recommendation for where to watch the rugby quarter finals, bonus! What a great welcome to Paris, made for a very pleasant... More

We booked a table here in advance of a weekend trip to Paris and it was definitely worth it! The food was amazing - my husband said it was probably the best steak he has eaten and that is definitely praise! The staff were friendly and very efficient, the wine was great and the limited menu was fabulous. Very close... More

We were the first patrons to arrive for dinner & (prior to early Moulin Rouge show) we were made to feel extremely welcome. Both the food & service were second to none. We were even given complimentary drinks after our meal. Loved the magnetic fork! All in all, a wonderful experience. Definitely recommend.

We had a great night, food was superb, service excellent and great wine. We had the pork terrine, chicken and a beef main and had the mixed desserts. Everything was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
