Wonderful Experience!

I was so happy to find Catherine Reed's cooking class through Paris Perfect. Having lived in Paris, I have been to many cooking classes, etc. but never did I learn as much as I did with Catherine. This prompted me to have dinner at Reed with my husband . Reed is a charming restaurant where... read more

This restaurant is a little gem. Chef owner, Catherine Reed is in complete charge of an evening in her charming restaurant. Prices were excellent for the high quality of her food. Exceptional find in the heart of Paris.

Tiny private chef's studio. Menu changes daily. Person who didn't like tomoto tartlet is "special." It was a flakey basil filled crust, topped with tomatoes on crack (no other explanation for the flavor) and freshly shaved parm cheese. I had the cornish hens which were over a bed of cabbage, cumin (go figure!) and bacon. Hubby had beef bourgoinon and... More

We had a full dinner - starter, main, dessert. For starters we had the foie gras terrine and tomato tart with parmesan. They were good but nothing to write home about. Mains were a whole different ballgame. I had duck confit with fig chutney. I guess this is what the other reviewers are saying. The things Catherine does well, she... More

Highly recommended for those who appreciate the finest French home cooking. By that I mean simple, perfectly prepared dishes, using the finest ingredients, prepared and served by owner/chef Catherine Reed. The dining room is cozy - room perhaps for 12 diners. The open kitchen adds to the ambiance. Special kudos for the choice background music- mellow jazz - enhanced the... More

Our experience at this quaint and precious restaurant in Paris, France is still on our minds even though we're overdue for this review! We first learned of Reed via the Web and called to reserve a table for two. Catherine Reed is an impressive one woman show who does everything from field calls for reservations, to the daily grocery shopping... More

We had read such great reviews of Reed and were anticipating eating here. I had heard about how hard it was to get a reservation but there were no more than 6 patrons during our visit. The owner greeted us very indifferent, never thanking us for coming. I know it's hard to run a place alone but this experience never... More

While the place gets attention and is hard to book as it is not online, the food was just okay. One woman who owns the place does all the cooking and serving so it really does feel like you are joining someone for dinner at their home. The owner is passionate and thrilled to have her own restaurant. I just... More

Reed is amazing. A quaint little 1 woman run restaurant in the Invalides area (right off of Rue St. Dominique). Small menu but offerings for everyone. We loved it. Catherine is a pleasure and makes great suggestions (on food and also on wine pairings). The first night we went we walked in and were lucky enough to be seated. There... More
