Need Reed

Such a charming, tiny restaurant hidden on Rue Amelie. Catherine, the owner and cooking school teacher is French Canadian and serves local food with a twist. Not fancy but excellent. We were a group of friends after a ski trip and she closed the restaurant for us. Such a treat. Good value... read more

The best dinner we've had in Paris. Make reservations so you can enjoy this place for a special occasion. Intimate place on a side street off of Rue Saint Dominique where the chef/wait staff/sommelier/dishwasher is one and the same: Catherine from Quebec. We enjoyed the duck and beef bourignon as well as some unique entrees she recommended. Frankly, just go... More

Reed was just beautiful. Being a tourist you will find yourself eating at lots of restaurants but Reed is definitely one you won't forget. It was like walking into someone's home , having them greet you, cook for you and serve you. The restaurant itself is small and cosy. The kitchen was literally right there next to you so you... Christmas Eve dinner at Reed was a wonderful, authentic cosy experience. Traditional French cuisine, comfortable and inviting mood along with amazing food, fabulous wine, great people and of course,, the lovely Catherine, a fabulous Chef, who makes you feel so at home, its like being at a best friends home for dinner! I will book a table there again before... More

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner last night at Reed. I hesitate to recommend this restaurant only because the very charming owner/ chef is already turning away diners, but her work and enthusiasm are outstanding, and I believe she deserves the accolades she is receiving. Unlike other reviewers, I would not say this is the best meal of... More

My three traveling companions and I have had plenty of wonderful dining experiences in cities all over the world, and few could match the meal that we had at Catherine's charming bistro in the 7th yesterday evening. Catherine was the consummate host and an amazing chef, and it was as if we were guests in her home. Every dish was... More

It has been a few months since visiting Paris, but I still think of the amazing experience I had at Reed. Unaware that many of the restaurants near our hotel required reservations for dinner, my friends and I were able to book the restaurant on short notice after calling ahead. Catherine was an amazing host and chef and made our... More

I echo every comment on this site that Catherine has earned. She is a wonderful chef and a gracious hostess cooking traditional French food with a light touch. Working in her open gorgeous kitchen she turns out classic French dishes that we thoroughly enjoyed. Please visit Reed or take one of her cooking classes, she is a gem that should... More

What can I say about Reed...and specifically Catherine Reed? Well, in a word 'amazing'! My family and I celebrated my daughter's 8th birthday on 8 November. Catherine kindly agreed to rent the restaurant to our party of 7. The process of scheduling the date, choosing the menu was all handled promptly and smoothly. We arrived and were greeted with a... In all my travels I have never found a place like Reed. Reed is a restaurant owned and run by one person. She (the owner Chef) will take your reservation, seat you on arrival, take your order (offering hand prepared dishes with local stock and produce prepared by her), clear your table and serve you desert (also hand made by...
