Slipping a bit, I think

For five years + this has been my go-to romantic splurge restaurant. I think this was my last visit for a while. The space is still lovely, but the food, while still good, seems a bit stingy, and the service is WAY off. No one was rude, but we were pressed to order quickly. Starters and entrees... read more

Chances are that Le Chardenoux will be my new favorite restaurant in Paris (since the previous retired). I had one of my best meals in there. It included foie gras, marvelous farmhouse chicken with carrot puree and rum sponge cake. All this with just €39 (plus wines). Le Chardenoux is a traditional and famous Paris fine dining restaurant. Founded in... More

Great service & great food, particularly if you love desserts. 3 course set menu for 39 euros, which includes service. Spirits/mixers expensive, so stick to wine!!

This for us is the quintessetional Parisian location, where they serve up an easy and uncomplicated cuisine. But lets set the matrix first. We push open the door and you feel the comfort hit-the-spot...... Beef tartare, landes asperagus with mimosa sauce, saddle of lamb cooked in a clay crust, chicken cooked in hay, French toast waffles. Get it, simple and... More

We (party of 4) happened upon this restaurant by chance as we were mistakenly dropped by taxi on Rue Paul Bert rather than Rue Paul Albert. It was to our benefit, however, as our late lunch here was just delicious. We arrived a little before 2pm when other restaurants in the area were finished serving. We were able to get... More

We loved this bistro! The authentic feel of Le Chardenoux makes you feel like you've stepped back in time, but the food represents all that is good with a modern interpretation of classic French cuisine. Service was courteous and efficient, wine list was expansive enough for a bistro, menu offered enough choices for all types of patrons (except vegetarians). Wonderful... More

This is the real deal in Paris and I can tell you that after a dozen visits to this city and many many restaurants, this one shines! Make a reservation as it fills up quick and enjoy the ambiance, warm and attentive service and the food -- ahhhh the food! Layers of flavors and superb attention to detail make this... More

I wanted a decently priced (meaning it would be expensive, but not INSANE - this is Paris after all) restaurant with old Parisian charm - the atmosphere was important to me, and I feel like I got it - old world charm in the decor, and locals seemingly everywhere. Had a friend fluent in French make my reservation, which I... More

My wife and I had a very good French dinner in this beautiful restaurant next to one of the famous bistrot streets in Paris. We shared a terrific Terrine de Foie Gras. My wife had a squid dish with a Parma ham sauce that was somewhat stingy with the ham, but was, nevertheless very good. I had a pork chop... More
