good "bistrot" in Paris

The menu features some classic bistrot dishes but with a new interpretation. The place is friendly but was so hot, could be great to add air-con or even fans. Anyway I have been twice and will go again for sure.

In a truly vintage and stereotypical Parisienne bistro, with huge mirrors and a generally ornamental feel, it was the perfect setting for an excellent meal, a little pricy no doubt but well worth the money.

We were here on a very warm Paris evening - 30 plus degrees Celsius. We had a table inside, and received great service. The set menu at €39 per person was well worth every cent. Starters and mains were excellent, and the desert - raspberry French toast with pistachio ice cream was just out of this world. Highly recommended, you... More

Le Chardenoux used to offer a mix of somewhat predictable, traditional French cuisine with some interesting créations, and you could always find something you enjoyed on the carte. It is now following the latest fads in cuisine, some nice, some not so pleasing if not in tiny portions As I have visited Le Chardenoux when being in Paris for about... More

Chances are that Le Chardenoux will be my new favorite restaurant in Paris (since the previous retired). I had one of my best meals in there. It included foie gras, marvelous farmhouse chicken with carrot puree and rum sponge cake. All this with just €39 (plus wines). Le Chardenoux is a traditional and famous Paris fine dining restaurant. Founded in... More

Great service & great food, particularly if you love desserts. 3 course set menu for 39 euros, which includes service. Spirits/mixers expensive, so stick to wine!!

This for us is the quintessetional Parisian location, where they serve up an easy and uncomplicated cuisine. But lets set the matrix first. We push open the door and you feel the comfort hit-the-spot...... Beef tartare, landes asperagus with mimosa sauce, saddle of lamb cooked in a clay crust, chicken cooked in hay, French toast waffles. Get it, simple and... More

We (party of 4) happened upon this restaurant by chance as we were mistakenly dropped by taxi on Rue Paul Bert rather than Rue Paul Albert. It was to our benefit, however, as our late lunch here was just delicious. We arrived a little before 2pm when other restaurants in the area were finished serving. We were able to get... More

We loved this bistro! The authentic feel of Le Chardenoux makes you feel like you've stepped back in time, but the food represents all that is good with a modern interpretation of classic French cuisine. Service was courteous and efficient, wine list was expansive enough for a bistro, menu offered enough choices for all types of patrons (except vegetarians). Wonderful... More
