Just had the most delightful and delicious meal at Le Chardenoux having been recommended by our wonderful host at the Grand Hotel Français. The food was terrific, the service very good under difficult circumstances - it was extremely busy. This is a fabulous French bistro in the 11th arrondissement. It is well located, comfortably furnished - sitting outside is particularly... More

Stumbled upon this place without knowing its ties to Chef Lignac or its historical value, and was blown away just by the quality of the food for the relatively cheap price. Our lunch menu, a three-course meal, was a mere 22euro each, and included a rather hefty sized bowl of gorgeous mussles. We loved the area and resturant so much... More

Beautiful restaurant with wonderful food. It's very popular and so make sure you reserve. One of the best meals we had in Paris.

Fabulous decor, unchanged since before the war and a beautiful painted ceiling. Food very good, more refined than Paul Bert (which is opposite, see our other review), somehow though just not as good and atmosphere a little lacking despite it being a Friday evening. Saying that the food was very good and very well cooked...mash with my chicken sublime and... More

OK the hamburger was tasty but guys - the hamburger is not "une spécialité de la cuisine française". don't pretend it is "haute cuisine" and don't give me a knife. and please just because i happen to have a yankee accent (even though i am not a yank) don't serve me in under 10 minutes and then stare at me... We went there this weekend on the recommendation of a friend. The space is smaller than it looks on the photos but pleasant, with a beautiful baroque ceiling. But the food, I am sad to say, was seriously mediocre. The foie gras fume with mushrooms was an indistinguishable soupy mess in which we could barely taste the foie gras. The... More

A great bistro with wonderful food. I chose a really yummy endive and Roquefort salad followed by cod with mixed wholewheat risotto from the daily menu and my husband had a croque monsieur and burger from the standard menu. Excellent quality food, unobtrusive service, and all in all a great neighbourhood restaurant that I wish was a little closer to... More

Trying to book on Sunday night, we told not o come before 9.30 else they would be full. When we did arrive at 9.30 it was more than half empty, but no matter - the service was courteous. The décor and ambiance were nice traditional french, quite elegant. Now onto the main point, the food. For starters we had 'emietté... More

Love this area of the 11arr for the selection of great restaurants where you can be assured of a good feed. It was a toss up between Paul Bert bistro or this one and seeing that we had been to the former we thought we would give this place a try. We sneaked in just as the lunch crowd started... More
