This restaurant is something really special. The food is nothing short of excellent - flavour, presentation, delicacy - but it's the total experience that sets it apart. The food is inventive without pretension, the service attentive without intrusion, and I felt an air of excitement as I shared their obvious joy at my enjoyment of what for Cobéa is intentional:... The service is outstanding. The menu is prix fixe with three choices -- four courses, six courses or eight courses. We chose the six courses and were delighted with the nouvelle cuisine ideas of the chef. Several foams (the zucchini and the caviar foams were our favorite -- especially the caviar). Unless you know exactly what wine you want, you might... More

This is one of the top 10 meals I have ever eaten in my life, maybe even top 5. My wife and I went for lunch and found the food to be inventive and delicious. A couple of the dishes were unbelievably good. There was only one dish that we both found to be just okay. The two or three... More

We visited Paris and decided to try a few good restaurants. What an experience, excellent, food, service and atmosphere. Just can't complement the chef and the staff enough. Would go back again in a heartbeat.

Cobea has one star, but will surely be getting another one soon. The competition between one star restaurants in Paris is tight, but IMHO this standard of cooking would get 3 stars in London or Rome. The blonde and I had the 8 course taster menu (more like 14 with the amuse bouches, and palette cleaner, chocs etc), flight of... More

Based on Trip Adviser's reviews, we decided to book a table for the last lunch we spent in Paris. Both starters and main dishes were fantastic, and also the desserts were very spectacular. The helpful staffs and comfortable environment provided a enjoyable lunch for us. I sure will come again when visit Paris next time.

The food here is of the highest level. I could not fault anything, the menu is great with options for four, six or eight courses. The flavours in the dishes were amazing. Service was also great with explanation of each course by the staff. The wine list is extensive and they really know their wines here helping you choose if... More

We had the tasting menu. Every course was perfection. Excellent ingredients were beautifully cooked and presented in an innovative way. The service was impeccable.

Cobea was an amazing find! Some of the best food we have eaten to date, and we love to eat! You choose the number of courses you want (3, 6 or 8). However, we were given several amuse bouches throughout the meal as well. We chose 6 courses and all were fabulous. The play of flavours was gorgeous, whilst not... More

The staff was extremely gracious. You need reservations. Seating is limited but the service, wine and food were excellent. Although the seating is limited the setting was romantic. Perfect find for our evening in Paris.

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighborhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the center of Paris this neighborhood has something for every hour of the day.
