A wonderful cafe in a spectacular location

If you find yourself near Ile Saint-Louis, do be sure to pop into Cafe St. Regis, or even better, get one of the outside tables. The location is fantastic for people watching, and the food and people working at the cafe are top notch.

Bustling atmospheric restaurant with friendly staff and excellent food. We had the set brunch of boiled egg, pastries, bread with a variety of jams. Although not the cheapest (about 12 Euro for the set brunch), it was definitely worth it. The hot chocolate was one of the best we have had and even though it was busy the service was... More

This is a small restaurant that you visit not only for decent food but for the overall experience. The service is hectic to say the least, but everyone - staff and customers - are having fun. The basics of French brunch food are totally covered. The place is noisy, but no one seems to leave saying it was too loud.... More

LOVED this restaurant! Charming, energetic staff who work very hard and create a warm, relaxed atmosphere. We had lunch here and everything was very tasty and service was quick. The staff were happy to help and quick to smile, and the decor of the place was spot on. Best meal of our trip and we would happily recommend!

My friends and I ate dinner here on a weeknight and all enjoyed our meals. The chicken paillard was great! Prices were reasonable and the restaurant was crowded with locals and tourists alike. Would definitely go back.

Came upon this place by chance. Full of local people and immediately you are enveloped in a warm fog of laughter and happiness which starts with the staff and is truly infectious. The decor is true brasserie style and the food is amazing. Can't wait to go back.

Called in by chance on a Friday evening, while on short break to Paris in March 2015. Did not go int to eat, just a quick drink, but while having excellent Cosmopolitans, saw the food looked good so we stayed. The fish off the specials board was melt in your mouth good and the accompanying ratatouille was fabulous. Good selection... More

My wife and I were staying on Ile St Louis and this cafe was close by. We went in and had breakfast, brilliant chocolat chaud, service great. Then we returned for lunch, no reservations, just wait by the bar till a table becomes available, circa five to ten minutes. Very nice food, the onion soup is very satisfying. Then we... More

We had visited this café several times before. This will be our last time. My choice of roast salmon ,gnocchi and vegetables sounded lovely. I was enjoying it until I realised that half of the fish was practically raw. Asked for a reduction on the bill. Waitress said she would refer it to the manager - another young woman whose... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
