A good, honest couscous...

This is my go-to place for couscous when in Paris. In the bottom of the Latin quarter amidst a plethora of ethnic restaurants, this place has a very nice atmosphere, with tons of live plants hanging from the ceiling and excellent honest couscous, that you can order with any of a range of meats... read more

A female employee enticed us inside the restaurant by offering a free appertif drink. The free drink was delivered as promised. Three of us shared 2 dishes which was plenty of food and absolutely delicious. We ordered couscous with vegetables and tagine (a large pot with slowed cooked vegestables). Since 2 of us are vegetarians we found this restaurant very... More

This is the second time that I have been here with a large group of (28) students. The owner has been very accommodating, and has been able to fit all of us in his restaurant at once! I'm so glad that he could because we all enjoyed the huge portions of meat, vegetables, and couscous. The atmosphere is also enjoyable... More

Sadly, our experience was not a pleasant one. We arrived at 21:50 ordered a tangine and couscous. All the people that had arrived after us received their meals promptly. By the time we received ours close to 23:00 the couscous was cold along with the meats, the bread was stale and the tangine was bland. The waiter tried to sell... More

They stood on the sidewalk and enticed us in with the offer of a free drink. At the end of a disapponting experience there was no free drink. The tables are so close together you can't get in or out without your neighbors leaving their seats. But the most disappointing was when they said they had no French wines that... More

My wife, myself, and two friends visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening. My wife had visited this restaurant once a few days earlier with a different large group of friends and enjoyed it and was keen to return. However on her second trip both of her choices were off and she settled for a steak which was inedible! This was mentioned to... More

We've been coming here, on and off, for almost 20 years and are invariably warmly welcomed by the charming hostess who first weaned us off the 'Bon Couscous' next door. Quite a task when we had been patronising their rivals since the '60's. A welcome Kir while we studied the menu set the tone for the finale to our visit... More

I worked in Paris in the spring of 2011 and ate here at least a half-dozen times. The food was always amazing and I kept going back with different friends and colleagues. Everyone agreed, this was the best couscous they had while in Paris, some said the best ever. The restaurant itself is in a touristy area filled with restaurants... More

If you can find your way to the Rue Xavier Privas, just off the Place St Michel in Paris' 'Quartier Latin', you are in for a real treat. Make your way past the numerous other restaurants in this bustling street and head for the 'Nouveau Village' The friendly hostess has been greeting our family for 20 years or more and... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
