Le Saint Jean is located in a charmy region of Paris and offers traditional french créps. In general, food is not cheap, as in whole Paris, and not that special. Onion soup is good. If you don't speak french perhaps you will be overlooked.

Perfect to hang out on a great Montmartre street. The many reviews of Saint Jean should make it very clear that it is not about food. It is the outside seating, facing the charming rue des Abbesses, perfect for people watching and to be seen, at half the cost of Cafe de Flore or the Deux Magots. Rude waiters? Sure,... More

Prices in the average of Montmartre, but expensive if you consider what they offer. Microscopic portions of tasteless food served by rude and hasty waiters. In the end, considering only the great offer of good restaurants in the area, with the same prices and better food, there's no single reason why you should choose to have lunch or dinner here.

The food that I had which was the plate du jour was awful. Overcooked and not fresh. The service was nothing special but not unpleasant.

I'd come to Paris to see the finish of the Tour de France and spend a couple of days sightseeing on my own. Went to Monmatre, but all the restaraunts round the pace du tertre were crowded, so walked down a block into this one. The reception was amiable, The waiter recommended a dish that was not on the menu,... More

After a long and chilly day in Montmartre, we were looking for a warm cafe to enjoy some wine and a possible snack. We stumbled into the wrong one. The waiter was dismissive, we had to ask for menus which were given to us with an attitude, and generally we felt very unwelcome. We decided to only order some wine... More

very busy little cafe in the heart of rue des abbesses .once you get the attention of the waiting staff the food and drinks arrive but with a major attitude from the waiting staff . The food was all nice . the bill when requested was just thrown , from a distance, onto the table !!

I've been coming here for a few years and haven't had a bad time yet. Isn't Paris supposed to be famous for the attitude of its waiters? We used our terrible French pronunciation and allowed them to repeat it back in English. The service is relaxed, but look around at the locals who aren't fussy about drinking up and moving... More
