Lovely French bistro

We return on a week day after having célébrated with a group of friends the previous saturday. Everything is made from fresh produce and of good quality. Few french classicals with a modern twist. The only problem is the noise from very close tables. You almost had to sweet .that did not happen when we did monopolise a certain area... More

We ate on a cold evening in early March. The waitress could not have been more friendly, taking us in (good) English through the menu in great detail. We had an very enjoyable meal with a very pleasant bottle of red wine from the Loire. The restaurant is small but it was busy and had a real buzz about it.... More

I really enjoyed this restaurant. It's one of the best I've ever dined at. The presentation was perfect. The food was just amazing. Like, every mouthful was heavenly. The staff were also fantastic and were very friendly. They happily put up with my complete inability to speak french and were patient with my questions about the menu (no english menu... More

Went to this well recommended bistrot, close to our hotel ( walking distance). Informal place, few tables ( small space), crowded, like family owned. Could see the kitchen from our table, that could be cool or maybe because all space was fulfilled... Nice "baguette" bread with "Pata Negra" ham. Menu available for 2 or 3 plates, or ordering by simple... More

We visited this fab Bistro in December - Amazing ! We were not disappointed! 1st time in Paris, 1st time here ! All the menu is written in French but the waitress explained it all to us in great detail. Food was stunning and so was the wine. Service was excellent and nothing to much trouble. Would recommend booking as... More

We ate at this restaurant last night after being given a business card when walking past earlier that day. It was a 5 minute walk from our hotel too so we felt very lucky to have stumbled upon this little beaut. After reading reviews on here my mind was made up, we were going! And it did not disappoint. The... More

We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from our hotel. When we walked in, I was very glad we had a reservation since the place was full (and almost entirely a French clientele, which is a good sign). The servers were kind enough to translate the whole menu for us and make recommendations. The food ranged from interesting to... More

Wonderful French Bistrot with friendly, helpful, and a gracious staff. 2nd best meal (could not beat the meal at the Jules Verne on the Eiffel Tower) on a three day trip to Paris. You can't got wrong with a restaurant that offers Spanish Iberic Pata Negra ham as an appetizer. Save room for desert!! Bon Apetite!!!

What a lovely place! It was a surprise discovery to find this little restaurant literally just outside the front door of the hotel I was staying at in Paris (see my separate review of Hotel Aiglon). Located in a side street crossing the Raspail boulevard, it's one of a myriad bistros, cafes, restaurants and bars sitting on every corner of... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
