Le Bistrot des Campagnes is one of a half-dozen smart and classy little bistrots off Montparnasse boulevard. The clientele our day there was all French, like the folks who brought us there. We entered--with reservations--at 1 pm on a Wednesday and every seat was taken. Small, with ten or twelve tables, the Bistrot is tightly arranged but everyone fits and... More

A lovely little bistro, the ambiance was relaxing, the waitresses were excellent (helping me out with my bits and pieces french). The food is simple fare but full of flavour, my husband had the poulet, I had the Cote de boeuf and we each ooh'd and aah'd over the others dish and decided scrumptious best description. The lovely waitress also... More

Was around the neighbourhood and was checking Tripadvisor for places to eat and chance upon this restaurant. Following the app, we could not find this restaurant. From the app, directions were given to the wrong side of the main road. So almost did not make it. The food was great and generous in portion. The service staff was friendly and... More

We tried this place out due to it's proximity to our hotel. I couldn't have asked for a better first meal in France. Excellent courses and very courteous staff. Highly recommended!

Our dinner was perfect. Even though the restaurant was packed, our server couldn't have been more pleasant, warm, and helpful. Every bite of each dish was magnificent, the wine delicious, and the ambience superb. I wish we could return every night!

After looking on trip advisor for local places to eat during our 3 day stay we chose here based upon the good reviews. What a lovely restaurant. The food was delicious and would definitely return. The waiters couldn't help you enough and they were very polite. The menu isn't in English but the waiter took us through the whole thing... More

We return on a week day after having célébrated with a group of friends the previous saturday. Everything is made from fresh produce and of good quality. Few french classicals with a modern twist. The only problem is the noise from very close tables. You almost had to sweet .that did not happen when we did monopolise a certain area... More

We ate on a cold evening in early March. The waitress could not have been more friendly, taking us in (good) English through the menu in great detail. We had an very enjoyable meal with a very pleasant bottle of red wine from the Loire. The restaurant is small but it was busy and had a real buzz about it.... More

I really enjoyed this restaurant. It's one of the best I've ever dined at. The presentation was perfect. The food was just amazing. Like, every mouthful was heavenly. The staff were also fantastic and were very friendly. They happily put up with my complete inability to speak french and were patient with my questions about the menu (no english menu... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
