Don't go there for anything else. If it's cuisine you are looking for, read Trip Advisor for real restaurants. This is a super place to just sit - inside - by the large doors and just watch the crazyness of Paris early morning life. We spend time in Paris twice a year and this cafe has been the best viewing... More

I really did like this little restaurant. I ordered the French Onion Soup and it was the best I have ever eaten. SO hot, and the cheese all melted over the bread. To die for. I also ordered a little salad, and I just love the dressings that they make in France. I came home and had to try to... More

Went for a late afternoon meal, very close to my hotel. French onion soup and croque madam were good. Outdoor seating was good for the fall, in fact the cafe was empty inside. Service was abrupt, but polite.

After emerging from the Odeon Metro station in a downpour, we ducked into Le Danton that just screams Paris (lots of brass). Yet our snack -- omelette with potatoes and onions -- and coffee were great. As our hotel was around the block, we came here every morning for breakfast. Great people-watching and a sweet yet reserved staff.

Went here for breakfast - eggs, coffee, and tea. Delicious! GREAT location in Carrefour Odeon. Great to watch Paris wake up from a late night of merrymaking. This is a good place, give it a try for sure!

Great cafe, great location, even if they are draconian about not seating you for coffee during lunch and dinner hours. THey make the best cafe viennois (coffee with whipped cream) in Paris. Good for people watching too.

This restaurant was a 3 minute walk from our hotel in Paris. We had breakfast here every morning on our 5 day trip. I enjoy becoming a "local" in any place I visit. After day 3 the waiters were bringing us our croissant, baguette, jus d' orange and cafe' creme without us even ordering. It is the perfect image of... More

For a typical French brasserie look no further. Here it is! This place is a fantastic little gem for breakfast and lunch! Service is quick and staff are very nice. The food is good and the place sits on a corner with lots of windows to give it a bright atmosphere. Plus my wife loves it too.

Our first day in Paris we went to this restaurant. We were seated at a dirty table. 20 minutes later, the waiter cleaned our table. Everyone around us were being served and given water. We could not catch anyones eye to order. We sat for 45 minutes without being acknowledged. Needless to say, we left.

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
